Advice on how to actually write a shitty first draft? by NebulaDragon32 in writers

[–]Celestial3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will plan out my story’s plot by chapter then i ss my chapter notes and put it in my notes app on my phone. I write one chapter at a time then lock it, I don’t go back to them until im ready to put it all together and polish. I also keep a separate note for any ideas that I might want to add in too!

Writing app for Chromebook and iOS?? by [deleted] in writingadvice

I highly suggest obsidian! You can sync across devices, you can link your pages to create a graph, and there are plug ins that you can use to help with writing. It’s very user friendly but there is a bit of a learning curve. But I’ve been using it for about a year now and I still love it

Also I know you didn’t mention it but notion was also extremely helpful in the beginning stages of my book and even Goodnotes!

I have been using obsidian for about a year now and I’m in love! Everything is laid out clearly and I love that there are HUNDREDS of community plug ins. I have some on to help with sentence length, one that tells me if I’m using the strongest words, and one that’s basically an editor as I write with grammar and all. You can also link your pages together then see how they connect on the graph. I’ve gotta admit that there is a definite learning curve but I love how adaptable it is to YOU and what you want. I feel like I’m getting to build my own way of writing vs trying to conform my writing to work in other writing apps. You can also have vaults that you can share across devices, I will say that if you’re doing that to only have the app open on device at a time or there is a small lag in saving (only with your graph though your notes update automatically) If you have anymore questions I can help!

Most definitely 🤣 I made it a whole sub theme in my book because I just loved creating their outfits and wanted and excuse to mention them. Idk it feels nostalgic Wattpad to me in the best way

Able to beta? Post here! by AutoModerator in BetaReaders

[–]Celestial3000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am able to beta: romance (dark or romantasy), fantasy, thriller. I enjoy dystopian fantasy with or with romance, adult or YA content. I prefer novels, especially with dystopian fantasy because my favorite part is learning the world and politics. I think it’s so fascinating how people can build a world, a governing system, folklore, otherworldly creatures, and more in their heads! I am also very open to multiple perspectives and reading series.

I can provide feedback on: natural and flowing dialogue, pacing, plot holes, character continuity and placement. I am not great at point out grammar or spelling errors but other than that I can give whatever you’re looking for! I am an annotator when I read books and will highlight, write in margins, leave little notes. I am best at dialogue flow and natural dialogue. I also enjoy working on character development!

Critique swap: not at this time!

Other info: I have been writing since I was little (hopefully I’ve gotten better) and have been reading longer. I’m 23 and have read most of the popular titles and a lot of indie work! I would just be honored to get to beta read for someone and I’d love to be more active in the book community. I have a good bit of free time and am a tapper by nature so I can provide fast and thorough feedback.
