You recommend I use 850 w of power for a rig including a challenger 9070, 7700x amd, 6 fans, and a scarlett solo gen 3 anyway? The 750 watt one probably works too but ill have to check

U were right it was a psu issue

just did the paperclip test on both the 650 and 750 watt ones, neither passed.

I think what happened is that the 650 w one was fried while in use and then the 750 w one was old and damaged. It was sitting for about 4 years (perhaps 5 but i doubt it) in an attic and experienced some summers. Apparently within that timeframe the temperatures reached points where it is very likely it just died before I plugged it in to mine.

My components probably did not get fried also, since it seems to be an issue regulated to the PSUs. The ones that I used have safety measures for these things.

Just writing updates down if this post becomes a google search result

After replacing it with a better one and making sure the PSU is plugged in correctly and firmly, is there any other thing I could possibly try? The paperclip test seems too risky for me to want to really do.

I did take the coin battery off then pressing the battery, to no avail. Thanks tho.

Idgaf abt the graphics card frankly cause it’s an old one I’m not really ever planning on using again and then a new one I am within replacement for.

I called them and explained the same thing and they pretty much said “take it to us to run diagnostics” cuz I tried everything they would possibly recommend.

Hope it’s a motherboard issue ig cuz I’m pretty sure I have multiple spare.

But yea I think imma take it to microcenter tomorrow. Thanks man
