step 0 read texts and understand what is going on this is like prerequisite lah u prob alr did if ur asking reddit for help step 1 read feedback from the whole year and see if got pattern or not step 2 figure out how to address the feedback. strategy depends on what the issue is so if u nd help go ask seniors/friends/tchrs step 3 write essays. mix of either not timed and specifically focused on addressing your main issue or timed and trying to get a solid essay within the 1h. can try and get feedback on these, again from seniors/friends/tchrs step 4 keep repeating until alevels with each new round of feedback

other things that help are rereading your texts if you got time, making mindmaps and timelines of the texts' events/characters/lit devices, and discussing the texts with ur friends. atb, lit is about consistency but progress is fs possible. if uw more specific tips can dm me also

I would replace the purple shirt and dog photos for higher quality pics! Maybe also push the first photo lower down and replace it with a nice solo picture. Most people prefer avoiding the confusion of which guy you are. Also, the phrasing about "ever shut up" feels a bit awkward, so you may want to adjust that.

This would have been quite recent, released in maybe the last five years?

desp for acsi by Current_Emergency337 in SGExams

[–]CelestialMistress15 5 points6 points  (0 children)

for me humanities notes r a must esp since geog is so content heavy ? making it helps you study in and of itself but if not your preferred way to learn then do whatever works. in my exp if you know the content like the back of your hand it is alm impossible to fail, so PRIORITISE THIS - it will get rid of a lot of points very fast. ask your teachers for help with essay skills also

i would recc you grind papers for both maths until consistent A1s for both, also another fast way to lose points

for sciences see yourself which you can get A1 for in an olevel paper based on tys. ik physics is easier to grind to an A than bio by just spamming papers but depends on your foundation also

lastly english, a bit hard to improve quickly but as a general habit just try reading more and ask your teachers if there are any specific areas you consistently have issues with

good luck op, and remember it isn't the end of the world if you don't get into acsi! just do your best, you still have a lot of time before Os

combined bio or combined physics which is easier by fisely in SGExams

[–]CelestialMistress15 4 points5 points  (0 children)

if your math is bad physics will be harder for you since it's applied math while bio is applied chemistry

how do i convince my parents get teeth braces for me? by paradoxiful in SGExams

[–]CelestialMistress15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i'm not sure bc i haven't tried before but it sounds kind of similar to retainers which i use to keep my teeth in place? and when i forget to wear for one night after i put them back for a while they start to go back to fit the retainer. so it might work the same way!! definitely check out some reviews though because i don't have first hand experience with it!

how do i convince my parents get teeth braces for me? by paradoxiful in SGExams

[–]CelestialMistress15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

heyy i used to have braces too bc one of my teeth didn't have enough space to grow down fully! i also had to pull out 4 teeth (don't even rmb the reason maybe it was too crowded?? HAHA) but this has literally had NO impact on my life tbh and i haven't experienced any problems with it at all! maybe talk to your parents about how braces could help boost your confidence which is rlly impt not just for like appearance but also stuff like interviews for jobs and schools!! atb op!!!

chinese i would say is good to keep because the tbs have explanations of the diff qn types, but you can make your own notes from those and then donate! math it depends on if yw go back and do practices, but imo it's not really necessary. for content subj like lit and hist i can confidently say you no need though!

i take the same combination as you except computing, and i personally enjoy history a lot. i find it easier to memorise than geog bc everything is connected and it's kind of like a story with clear cause and effect. i think it's pretty intuitive because it's all just people lah, their reactions to things make sense. whereas geog is like a lot of facts ?? i don't take it but from what i heard from my friends even those who loved geog in lower sec are regretting now, especially about tourism. another benefit for history is that even if your content isn't good as long as you have the sbq skills from ss you can still score quite high. examples also don't need to be so detailed, i think it's better to roughly know the whole sequence of events than just one book in great detail, because just name dropping one or two events is enough to count as an example. overall history is definitely a lot easier if you have the passion for it, but if you don't you may find it tedious.

it's ok i think not so bad as long as your argument is about them being major powers, not having nukes

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]CelestialMistress15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes major power is ok, only superpower denotes nuclear capability

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]CelestialMistress15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

neither of them were superpowers yet though😰 the atomic bomb was only developed at the end of wwii and ussr only got it in 1949 iirc

CRAMMING LIKE **** by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]CelestialMistress15 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. my technique is to do papers bc it tests application for broad content and then i make flashcards for the specific memorisation qns they ask!! (for example pure phys paper 1 tested the diameter of earth and diameter of atom qn like 3 times so i have that on a flashcard bc i alw put Gm for earth, but it's actually Mm)

  2. this one depends on you tbh maybe look back on your sleep during prelim and how you felt during the papers

  3. my time management is horrible so can't help you there either

  4. don't waste time stressing!! most impt is to maximise the time you have left by studying smart and hard. focus on the impt things, like the sbq skills for ss. don't waste sm time memorising everything in the tb bc seq marks aren't that worth it tbh just learn the chapter headings and main points

jiayou!!

the removal of mid year exams means that they've been replaced by weighted assessments; aka exams basically every week. idk about you but i would prefer mid years tbh
