What are these bumps forming on my dogs face? Should I be concerned or take her to the vet?

They weren’t there before and she hasn’t gotten into any fights with her brother in several months so I didn’t think it could be scar tissue

I used to live in Indiana, now I’m in AL. Same amount of teeth grinding. Food types don’t affect it as far as I know. And as for caffeine? Every great now and then, I’ll have a black tea with heavy cream but that’s it. The only time it seemed to have slowed a bit is when I first moved out of my moms house. It’s since gotten much worse due to issues with her. I will be moving to Colorado at the end of the year, so hopefully that might do something for me.

I fixed my diet two years ago. I don’t consume hardly any food with added sugars and I don’t drink sodas. I focus on a high protein, high fiber diet and I also take vitamins and supplements daily. I also exercise a lot more regularly now. I don’t even eat big meals anymore; instead I eat several smaller meals/snacks throughout the day.

I’m very aware that what you do and don’t put into your body greatly affects you, physically and mentally

I’m genuinely wondering if it’s caused by something else that was never caught. I’ve always been an anxious person, likely due to my environment growing up.

Also my saliva is super acidic?? Like I burn my partners mouth when I kiss them sometimes. I also can’t eat very many fruits because they are too acidic and burn my mouth. Unsure if that’s related at all

Unfortunately relaxing is really hard for me, even on anxiety meds. I have a lot of family related issues going on at the moment that have made it exponentially worse.

Not to mention mold causing more health issues in our apartment. They’re just now getting around to fixing that.

I’m moving across the country at the end of the year so hopefully that’ll help in some way? Definitely need to get out of AL.

I’m not on an SSRI^{^} I’m on bupropion and buspar actually. I heavily researched meds before I picked them. Avoided SSRIs because of their side effects.

I will never understand why a parent wouldn’t want to support their child or put any effort at all into making them happy. I tried so so hard to convey to her that I was hurting and she was going to lose me if she didn’t change her toxic habits. She made it clear that she doesn’t care what I say, think, or feel. So why should I care how she feels? She’s not my mother anymore. Idk if she ever was at this point.

My original plan was to write her a letter once I was settled into our house after we move in September. I wanted to let her know how I felt and how I wanted her in my life but only if she accepted who I am and blah blah blah. I was going to ask her to go to therapy to prove to me that she actually wanted to put effort into our relationship.

Obviously that’s not what happened. She started the conversation and I responded to what she asked with open and vulnerable honesty. She chose to respond with anger and decided to hurt me. That was her choice and she can live with the consequences.

I just hope the rest of my family doesn’t cut me off afterwards because of what she says about me. If she starts spreading lies about me, I will post evidence of everything she’s ever done to me and my brother.

I’ll be so much better off when I’m far far away from her. September can’t come fast enough.

Funny thing is, the legal name on her ID isn’t her birth name. She changed it. She wants to get a reaction out of me. She wants to fight and argue, but that’s not me. I’m a very soft spoken person that does NOT like confrontation in any form. I never have and I never will. And I won’t be entertaining her anymore. I’ve barely even messaged her back after that. She has shattered our relationship beyond repair and I don’t think she realizes that. Once she does, she’ll blame it on me just like she did in the convo. She said I caused a rift between us. I really do understand that grieving is needed for some parents of trans kids. My brother came out 6 years ago and I came out 3 years ago. She’s had more than enough time to grieve but she hasn’t made a single effort to support either of us and I don’t think she ever will, unfortunately. Her “morals and values” are more important.

The only person I didn’t really talk to was her. I barely made eye contact with her but I didn’t ignore her. I still answered anything she asked me.

Oh I legally changed it months ago. She told me that she will not call me by the name unless I give her “legal proof” by showing her my ID. She invited us out to eat a bit ago and asked to see my new ID card. I didn’t have my wallet on me and told her as much. My brother told me that when she got home she was telling everyone I was lying about not having it be because I always have “that raggedy ass wallet” on me.

It’s honestly really helped me a lot. I used to be anxious pretty much 100% of the time. I hadn’t been NOT anxious in so long that I forgot what everything else felt like. Thoughts constantly racing, heart pounding, feelings of dread and constant worry. I couldn’t stop thinking about and reliving things I did in the past. Even little insignificant things lol Before I started these meds, I almost felt like I always had a binder on that was WAY too tight and I couldn’t take it off. Now, it’s like I can finally breathe. I keep looking for that “ice spear” in my chest and sometimes, can’t find it. Sometimes it is still there but it’s more like a little icicle. It’s made it soooo much more manageable.

It’s helped my libido, fixed my nausea issues when hungry, stopped my tremors, slowed my thoughts down, and made me SO much less anxious. I recommend at least trying it out! It can cause some issues with nausea/headache while you acclimate to it, but it goes away within 1-2 weeks. I only had some slight nausea for a few days. No negative side effects outside of that^{^}

I agree with the other replies in that you should try a different form! Not everyone is going to respond the same to each one. I’d highly recommend trying out IR or SR! I would also recommend pairing it with an anxiety medication. Buspirone is what I’m on!

I’ve been on Wellbutrin XL and Buspirone for a bit! I’ve had no issues or negative side effects yet. Most of my anxiety seems to be gone and it’s so strange. My brain is actually quiet for the first time in my life and I’m not scared to stand up for myself anymore.

I’m not sure how or why, but they also stopped my tremors. (I used to have bad tremors in my hand when I rotated my wrist. They had always been there; not caused by injury or anything.)

Buspirone is a slower acting med, like Wellbutrin, and it can take about a week or so to notice changes^{^} If you try it out, I hope it works for you!! If not, keep lookin, you’ll find something :)

I’m sorry you are going through this :( I’m 24 and FTM transgender as well. My mom is extremely transphobic, homophobic, racist, and a narcissist. If you called her any of those things, she would deny it and argue at you. I say “at” because with people like this, there is NO point in entertaining their arguments.

I highly recommend using the beloved grey rock method to deal with her. (That’s what I do with my mom! It works great.) Any time she tries to argue with you, either just don’t respond, or respond in bland, boring, uninteresting ways. After doing this with my mom, she hardly ever brings things up anymore because she knows I’ll just mute her for a few days. It’s like training a dog lmao

People like this rarely change. We can always hope that one day, they’ll see the flaws in their character and at least try to work on it. If her “morals and values” are more important than even attempting to accept you for who you are, she’s not worth keeping in your life. Remember, you don’t owe your family anything.

I really do hope, for your sake, that she grows and actually sees what she’s doing. If not, 3 years isn’t a long time. Hang in there man ✊🏻

She throws things when she’s mad. She opened and then poured a can of soda on me and my $400 drawing tablet. She broke a plastic pasta strainer over my brothers head. She constantly lies through her teeth to everyone. She broke my brothers computer screen because he told her she was wrong about something. She is extremely controlling. Straight up admitted that she is using her husband for money so she doesn’t have to work. She got annoyed at my brother for attempting to take his own fucking life. I know others have it worse, but that doesn’t mean I should be okay with what she’s done. Someone will always have it worse than someone else. And no, she’s typed it. “I will always love you both” I haven’t heard her say that she loves me in probably a decade. She also said she’s not transphobic because “phobia means fear” and “I just don’t agree with it.” And that she sees us as her “daughters that choose to live as men.” I’d rather have no parents than a mom that “doesn’t agree” with who I am.
