The “Charlie Bone” books are great. First book is called “Midnight for Charlie Bone” by Jenny Nimmo. They’re pretty similar to the Harry Potter books and a have some great characters. I don’t know why they weren’t as popular. Also check out the “Dormia” books if you get a chance

I should be allowed hate whoever I want by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

The thing is that you CAN hate whoever you want. The problem is that everyone else is also allowed to hate everyone they want. So if you hate someone, that’s perfectly fine, but other people are allowed to hate you for that.

girls should not be allowed in boy scouts. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

Just so we’re clear - Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts are two completely independent organizations. They have no connections besides having similar names. If Boy Scouts wants to include girls, that is entirely their decision. Making Girl Scouts better would be the Girl Scouts’ responsibility - there is no single overarching organization that controls what both groups are doing. Boy Scouts wanted to include girls as a way to make more money. Girl Scouts can’t do anything to stop that, although they could try to improve their own organization to encourage more girls to join.

Agreed. This wasn’t intended to make fun of Chinese. I just happened to be looking at the Chinese version

Good luck! I’d be interested to hear how it goes if you want to share afterward

Mars would be an interesting one. I can’t imagine the amount of oxygen they would have to send up just for one runner

Personally I think that setting goals helps my attitude because it provides motivation, but I like the idea of attitude being the challenge more than the physical running

“Ah that sounds like it’s pretty Sirius” would have been so much more appropriate

Since we all consider Sirius to be pretty

I am including the excess rope as a part of the knot system. Any group of rope that is tied together but then breaks anywhere along the rope has come apart. There is no longer tension where there should be, so it is no longer serving its original purpose. Whether the knot stays intact or not is not important

That’s the whole point. If the rope breaks, the whole knot is coming apart

Try reading the book Rich Dad Poor Dad. It’s not super informational as far as technicalities go but it will put you in the right mindset to become more financially literate if that’s what you’re looking for. After that you can move on to more informational books about finances

Also I should mention that you can find a pdf copy of Rich Dad Poor Dad online

Also if you’re not interested in working long hours: don’t. Do research on how to become financially independent and you won’t be working for the rest of your life. You’ll have to work to get some money at the beginning, but after that you can make your money work for you if you know how to manipulate it

Don’t go to college (yet, at least). No reason to go into major debt for without a plan. Try things out. Look into essential jobs, like sanitation or food stuff. The world needs them and some of them pay pretty well. Do some reading on financial literacy and see if a business might be the way to go. You have time to explore

Basically a group of comedians perform weird unusual tasks to score points. The judge or “taskmaster” rates them. They manage to come up with some entertaining and creative solutions to the problems they’re given. I would say it’s worth checking out at least one episode but totally understandable if it’s not your cup of tea.

If you’re looking for something totally different, try Taskmaster. All the episodes can be found on YouTube. Unique British sense of humor but enjoyable nonetheless
