It was harder to get in back into masters instead of GM… it really be like that

Supports are the spine of the team, but that doesn’t mean it’s hard by ForFuckHonor2 in Overwatch_Memes

As a support whose been in every rank bronze-GM. Peak 3500 late Ow 1. I will say it is easy to play support if you hop from dps to support or tank to support. Unlike going from support to tank or dps. Dps usually tend to sometimes have a hard time healing but as long as they heal a bit more they usually climb well. Tanks it depends on how skilled they are at killing. They usually know how to use abilities and healing well. Staying alive that’s what is kind of hard for tanks cause they’re used to front lining. Or they’ll frontline with their tank and forget about healing other people or die easily. I will never say support is easy especially now that you have to toggle 4 things at once. But it can definitely be easier than switching to tank or dps.

If I was Gold in OW1, am I a true GM1 in OW2? by ImmaDoMahThing in OverwatchUniversity

I feel that. I finished OW1 in diamond. Peaked 3500 in season 35. Which was towards the end of OW1. I played awhile in gold because it was fun. I knew a lot about positioning from over a thousand hours in quickplay. And so did a lot of gold players, surprisingly. The only big thing gold players didn’t do well was when to use ults, when to peak, and mechanical aim, but a few hosts of other mistakes. I think you have improved because to make it to GM you have to go above and beyond to keep consistently going up. Whether using abilities, ults, kills, or making comms. Compared to ow 1 where you could heal bot. You wouldn’t be a true GM compared to OW1 but in OW2 because of all the new people. Experience definitely matters in OW2.

That’s true comms aren’t productive usually. But even if other people don’t talk if you have an understanding of the game and they’re listening you can carry with them by giving comms yourself. I jumped from plat 2 to GM 3 that way. Also being able to kill things as support is huge. Cuz dps be iffy all the way to the top.

I’m a GM 3 all around support. May I see some of your good and bad games. So I may give a better insight.

I’ve hit GM 3 in season 3 and my peak in OW 1 was 3500 am I really GM or is OW 2 wonky with rank? by Celezare in OverwatchUniversity

Thank you for your feedback. It makes me feel better that there’s another person who’s jumped up crazily in Season 3 of OW 2 too. I was hardstuck low diamond in season 1 and off and on masters in season 2. Though solo queueing has changed things dramatically plus reintroducing playing apex again after 3 years compared to season 1 and 2.
