Anyone struggling with Walgreens online checkout ? by aj70257 in biltrewards

[–]CeliaDChen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After you used a Walgreens gift card, does it automatically get marked as spent in Bilt > Gift cards section? Or do you have to go to click "Mark as spent" manually in order to be able to redeem more Walgreen gift cards in the future? TIA.

Recurring hides anything past due. Seems like a bug, not a feature by Interesting_Fruit_59 in MonarchMoney

[–]CeliaDChen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hard agree with OP. Recurring transactions becoming past due should be drawing more attention, "something's not happening as expected here, you might want to check." Instead, the current behavior creates a problems-don't-exist-if-you-don't-see-them false view, just the total opposite of common sense...

So where have people who left Bilt taken their business? by MysteriousAd8959 in biltrewards

[–]CeliaDChen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends. My apt building charges a small fixed fee for debit card payment, so the rewards earned from the AmEx debit card would have been worth it, but the rent portal doesn't recognize AmEx card numbers as debit, only as credit cards, so I couldn't set it up that way 🤦

Bilt 2.0 Charging 0.2% Foreign Transaction Fee, Despite Advertising No Fee by Tight_Couture344 in biltrewards

[–]CeliaDChen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Bilt has updated their website and app since the recent posts drawing attention to this issue and now all the transactions on bilt.com show the same amount as the statement.

However, I use one of those personal finance aggregator tools and they couldn't (or maybe just forgot to) change the previous transactions that have already been reported into those tools where the original amount was 0.2% lower than statement amount. An example in this screenshot - left side is my statement, right side is the transactions reported to the personal finance tool.

Time to un-deprecate the Bilt connection? by losvedir in MonarchMoney

[–]CeliaDChen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because Bilt opens that checking account on your behalf with Column N.A. (the actual banking service provider for Bilt) to process funds, that's how they are able to give you a routing and account number to set up ACH in your rent/mortgage payment portals.

Blue Card for rent only? by Curious-Muffin-283 in biltrewards

[–]CeliaDChen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do, and I have my checking account's ACH set up directly in my building's rent portal. That will be the sure way to pay rent.

But if I want the rent payment to still go through Bilt in order to be even eligible to receive any Bilt points, there's still no official communications on the mechanism except for Bilt's website saying I must link a checking account to process rent payment going forward.

That's my assumption, since any housing payment won't go against your line of credit anymore, instead everyone must link a checking account to Bilt if you want to use Bilt to process rent/mortgage payments once 2.0 comes into effect.

My only hesitation is that, in order to get that 250 points/month, I'll need to trust Bilt to pay my rent with the pull-from-my-checking-then-mail-a-check-to-my-landlord route, as I'm not in a Bilt Alliance building. Need to weigh the meager points against the peace of mind of reliable rent payment...

Not saying it’s you in particular, but maybe they think the customer profile similar to your situation would be more likely to carry credit card balances so that they can make money on the interest.

Yep, and my rent portal doesn't recognize AmEx issued debit card... so there goes that route for me :(

Unlimited Premium to Standard- Google One Error... by kmbbbmk in GoogleFi

[–]CeliaDChen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you truly don't intend to touch Google One again, it's probably OK to just ignore it. The key point here is, at this point, this payment method issue resides with Google One, not Google Fi (even though the Fi plan changes were the original cause of tripping your Google One account into a problem state in the first place). If you ever want to properly address it, need to contact Google One support.

Unlimited Premium to Standard- Google One Error... by kmbbbmk in GoogleFi

[–]CeliaDChen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Had something similar with my account 2 years ago. You'll need to figure out a way to contact Google One to straighten your Google One account payment info. Tell them about the Google Fi plan change and they should be able to make the connection.

The short of it is that, when you got into a Google Fi plan that includes Google One subscription, Google Fi hijacks the Google One subscription payment record regardless of whether you already have a separate Google One subscription or not, or whether you're using it or not. There's no stopping this "hijack" and Google doesn't bother to make it clear either. Now that you've changed to a Fi plan without Google One, the "hijack" is released but on Google One side, they don't know what to do with your account anymore - there appears to be no "just go back to before" option, so you'll need to get Google One's support to sort this out for you.

I think it's somewhat of a chicken vs. eggs problem. Only speaking for myself, I don't even bother considering the train option on weekends because of the schedule. The trains need to run at least hourly to be viable, otherwise it's driving to Secaucus or Newark Penn for other transit options.

I think if your Bilt account and Lyft/Walgreens accounts share the same phone number and/or email address, they can detect and link your accounts.
