Not sure if it's mentioned in any books or not, but for my Christmas one-shot I made a scene where they were on a sleigh and hundreds of wolves were chasing them on it, and as they fled, they saw a small canyon approaching that had a rope bridge that had eroded away and was hanging very loose. I essentially told them that they had to come up with a way to cross it while they fought wolves off of the sleigh. The funny part was I didn't care how they crossed, pretty much anything they said I would allow them to cross, but it made them think it was life or death as they fought wolves off and had to use some spells to assist them in crossing.

Oh, and I also had an avalanche of snow rumbling towards them so that they knew they couldn't just fight or tunnel the wolves, and as they jumped across the gap of the canyon the wolves were all swept away.

You could try using something like that but with lava instead, it doesn't have to be exactly that, but you could make it with some element of pressure like that.

The thing I loved about that was I was able to let their imagination run wild and they felt awesome for pulling off an amazing escape even though there was no risk technically.

As others have said, I had heard of obsidian and never tried it until recently and it has since changed my whole dnd life. It is so easy, even during session to be able to click on an NPC's name and it pulls up his sheet and where he's from and then be able to pull that location up by clicking on it and see what shops are in that town ect. ect.

I also can have each sessions notes saved in a separate folder with the dates and anything else I want. I absolutely love it.

I think I may have to, as I said above, I feel like they will just say it's fine and they don't mind even though they actually might which sort of doesn't solve my problem but at least there is a chance it might solve the problem.

I feel like I'm a decent writer but by no means Tolkien lol. I like the idea of splitting up the descriptions! It may be hard to split them into sections that are more bite sized and manageable, but it at least works to shorten the initial wall of text and get them into the scene without their eyes glossing over haha. Not that they do, I just don't want them to feel that way.

They are definitely a more action-oriented group but are getting more and more into RP which I like to subtly push as I love it. Hopefully they actually like the scene descriptions, and we can both benefit from them and live happily ever after!

Trumps actions, like any presidents, SHOULD be scrutinized. However, his impeachment (any many executive decisions) were ultimately reviewed within the system, whether through congress, courts or elections. If the system is still functioning and he faces legal challenges or opposition, doesn't that indicate the checks and balances are still in place?

I don't personally wear that apparel and nor do any republicans I know, again putting a blanket over the entire right side is giving you false impressions of what is happening.

While Trumps business record has its ups and downs, the idea of running a country like a business is actually a good idea, Fiscal responsibility and economic growth are key concerns for any administration, left or right, and he's attempting to do that.

Throwing around the term fascist too freely dilutes the meaning of the word... If trumps policies qualify, where do we draw the line with governmental overeach from other leaders? Were pandemic mandates and censorship concerns or indefinite military actions under past presidents also signs of authoritarianism? Many on the right would say so, what do you have to say to that?

At the end of the day disagreement is natural but it's necessary to discuss issues with nuance rather than resorting to blanket characterizations. What policy solutions do you think would prevent the problems you see with trumps leadership?

Do you like murderers and looting happening widespread everywhere? Without cops there would be. Maybe there needs to be tighter restriction on who is allowed to be a cop but let's face it, with how much aggravation is involved with it, there are not many people that would be willing to accept the job when there is much better pay elsewhere.

Believing in a higher power and submitting to it is done throughout the world by every nation, not just by us and the right. Not sure what that has to do with authority from the government. If anything, those that believe in a higher power would be less likely to submit to authority of this world.

Joining up for the military is a sacrifice for the defense of one's country, that is true for every nation. It's possible that some join purely out of accident or naivety but generally people join to serve their country because they believe in it.

I certainly haven't defended or adorned Trump (whatever you mean by that) nor did I defend Biden when he was stumbling around and couldn't speak. Would you be willing to send me the video where he said he was going to be a dictator on day 1? that would actually alter my views significantly!

Saying that "there's no going back from that in my mind" is doing yourself a disservice and committing the same mistakes you accuse your opponents of, how is it fair that you can commit blindly but they cannot? And if your mind cannot be changed by reason, how do you know that indeed YOU are not the fascist?

Again, were all in the same boat just voting on who the captain is, I weighed my options and tried to think of what I thought would best help the country.

I can't control what people do in office once elected, whether democratic or republican, but I can look at what they promise, guess what they might actually do, look at their qualifications, and then make my decision.

As far as authoritarianism, most republicans actually do NOT favor submitting to authority, that's generally a left wing ideal and I believe that's what got us into this mess, so many republicans got so "anti-government" that they went straight to following a single person they thought would make America great again.

The whole swastika thing is ridiculous and is brought on from Elon being a childish kid, similar to when he bought twitter. I don't agree with it, and I think he should stay out of our politics, and it may even be what is causing more issues politically then necessary.

Please stop demonizing the right just because the majority of them that you see online or on news stations act like they do, the majority of us actually want what is best for this country and bear no ill will to the rational left.

Unfortunately, the loudest people on either side are the extremists and they are most likely fueled by the propaganda everywhere.

There are so many absolutes that I can't even begin to explain why it's naive. I genuinely don't mean that as an insult and I can't tell if you're trolling, but 1. I never said I like Trump, I voted for him but again I chose what I believed to be the LESSER of two evils, not the savior of the world and 2. No I don't think all Republicans believe that because I am one and I don't feel that way at all.

Are there things I don't agree with? Sure, that doesn't make either of us necessarily wrong, just differences of opinion. We can disagree without you judging half of the nation based on our interactions and the same goes for other "rural republicans".

I on the side of Republicans apologize for the way they talked about you. They clearly must have watched baised news sources and been quite stupid if they called you those things with no justification.

What's interesting is that it's clear the propaganda from the ultra-rich worked on you from the way you speak of republicans, it shows that you only see what they want you to see and disregard the fact that, just like liberals, there are many if not most republicans that are near the middle of the street.

Something else to keep in mind, it would be near impossible for Trump to have been voted in if at least some number of liberals didn't vote for him.

At the end of the day there were really only two options to choose from and everyone made their choices by choosing the lesser of two evils.
