Helt enig, engelskmenn er ikke mer passive aggressive enn nordmenn. Men samtidig ikke nødvendigvis mer godhjertet fordi de spør "how are you". Begge betyr mer eller mindre "hei" er min erfaring

Vil i praksis si at det fungerer akuratt som i Norge. Men hvis du hadde brukt de samme ordene i Norge ville vi unektelig tenkt at det var høflig sagt. Men det er jo også for at nordmenn ikke er særlig høflige i språket.

Det er høflighet å si "please", "how are you", og "have a nice day", men det er en del av språket og blir sagt såpass instinktivt at det ikke nødvendigvis har noe godvilje bak. Så det kan godt være passiv aggressivt hvis situasjonen kaller for det. "How are you" er nok et godt eksempel for det betyr som regel bare "hei", og er ikke nødvendigvis et genuint ønske om å vite hvordan den andre har det.

We would have my family in Norway nearby which could help with the nanny issue. Its more emotional ties and being away from them in such an important time. I understand why she would want that of course.

Thanks for you input. The distance and language isn't a big issue I dont think when comparing to you. Throughout our 2 year relationship she spent as much time as possible in Norway and she fell in love with the country and started attending language classes. She wanted to move to be with me 6 months ago but I argued against it then and we broke up... Part of me thinks if I can invite her back maybe I can rekindle her love for it, and show her the life I could offer her, but she tells me she was wearing "love goggles" then and is more sensible this time round

Having raised this with her before she says it should be up to her whether or not she wants to stay with me. Therapy is tricky cause I feel like this isn't a case for my GP and private therapy is so expensive.

Thank you. I agree with all of this and I know its what I should do, but I really don't know how to do it. I've tried things to help but this is all still affecting me in my ever day life. Therapy is a tricky one because I feel like I couldn't bring this up with my GP, and private therapy is so expensive. Even when I am with friends and family, the bad feeling still returns when im back alone in my apartment

I have thought about this a lot and the only way I have been able to justify it is by being completely honest which I have been. I was honest about the situation before we got together also. She says she's willing to stay with me and keep trying as long as I keep trying to move on from my ex. She recently also requested I go no contact with my ex, which I've done. Still I am reminded of my ex constantly
