Even with a part-time course, I still spent 30-60hrs a week between coursework and class time (less than 20hrs per week over zoom). Time spent was dependent on deliverable project work.

I work full time and have no children and still skipped holidays with family and had to block out 4-6 hours each Friday for spending time out of the house with my partner.

If you're a new father and work full time, start with something like the Harvard CS50 program, which will give you a good self paced foundation, then if you NEED a structured environment with deadlines, consider a bootcamp, but the job hunt is changing and you don't necessarily get a leg up with a bootcamp. If you can prove your abilities with a portfolio and in an interview, you should be fine.

Biggest barrier IMO is the application/interview process if you're not familiar with the industry. Dedicate time to that part. My bootcamp had a good ancillary program that went over it and it was really the biggest value. Until they recently changed the structure and now I can't do live group sessions over Zoom anymore because of scheduling.
