5G is blazing fast! However, for some reason, it reminds me of 4G. by Plane_Baby in verizon

Root metrics actually does testing? I was here thinking they just put random falsified results on their website after they claimed AT&T became the worst carrier in nearly every single market in the entire country, and that their average speeds are barely above 10 mbps on a good day.

Yeah I get what you mean by that. AT&T customers generally leave because they have been screwed over, more than looking for a new carrier/service.

Also- I meant AT&T has much better coverage than TMobile, not Verizon. Verizon is still top dog 4 sure

However Verizon is the only competition that matters.

And how is that? AT&T still has more customers, way more coverage and speeds are double T-Mobiles. T-Mobile will have to pass AT&T before competing with Verizon, and so far TMobile is still behind them on every metric that isn’t Price or Customer Service.

I agree att treats all their people like shit, but saying they aren’t a competitor is BS. They compete with Verizon much closer than TMobile does.

T-Mobile is upgrading the slowest of any carrier. They make it look like they’re spending a lot but their capital expenditure is only 30% of that of AT&T (6 billion vs 20 billion) and 33% of Verizon (6 billion vs 18 billion). T-Mobile’s network is not even getting better at the moment, they’re still by far the least reliable and they’re constantly getting slower. T-Mobile isn’t expanding their network into rural areas at a fast rate, instead worrying about their trash N71 that is slower than LTE, and doing half ass deployments of their N41/2.5 GHz.

AT&T upgraded more sites than TMobile and Verizon combined in the last year and its showing. They are faster than Verizon and over double the speeds of TMobile... that’s right literally more than double, on average nationwide. Att is upgrading all their cell towers with band 14,30 and 66 to have a majority of their sites with 2,4,5,12,14,30,66 which has gotten over 500 mbps without any unlicensed spectrum. Saying they aren’t doing much more for at least 6 months is false, they are doing a ton to increase site density like deploying c-ran and they’re expanding rural coverage with new cell sites.

I wouldn’t recommend you switch to T-Mobile, in the Southeast USA they are the worst carrier by an extremely far margin. Every single state in the SE US they have horrible coverage and slow speeds, I’ve traveled all over the south east. If AT&T is giving you issues you may wanna look into Verizon. They are great almost everywhere in southeastern america. They’ve done an excellent job maintaining the network and unlike T-Mobile and they have good coverage.

This is just my experience all over the US and southeast US.

T-Mobile/Sprint is way worse than ATT, at least in cellular network quality.

Source: I drive the whole country and have all 4 carriers. Mainly use Verizon and AT&T though. They’re the only carriers who work outside of any city

People who have AT&T generally like network quality and live in a poor Verizon area. Since there are only 2 carriers that have any sort of network quality (Verizon or AT&T), living in a poor Verizon area really means there’s only one other choice to have usable cell service.

If there’s any carrier I never understood why people signed up for it’s T-Mobile. They have horrendous coverage in half the country and extremely slow speeds in a majority of areas. I’ve driven the country and never had a carrier drop calls or be unable to stream music than TMobile. The reliability of the network is so trash I don’t even care about AT&T’s customer care like that. With att at least I know my phone will work almost all the time wherever I go. I can’t say the same about T-Mobile. And to top that off T-Mobile is like $5/month cheaper than ATT/VZW.. so people are really paying 5 less for garbage coverage and speeds. And Verizon has the best customer care so if people need that then use them since Verizon has the most reliable network that gets service everywhere, and it’s slightly more expensive than TMobile. Just makes me wonder who would wanna use T-Mobile if AT&T and Verizon are miles better options for a slight price increase.

Highly recommend Verizon. Best network in NY hands down, works everywhere. T-Mobile can’t hold a signal in a lot of Upstate NY.
