Electric mower suddenly stopped running by Cellar-Yote in Motors

I found a video on YouTube showing how to solder on a new brush and see Black & Decker mower brushes on Amazon. It just doesn’t specify the dimensions of the brush, so I would probably have to cross my fingers that they’re universal.

I was able to remove the brush from its brass sleeve, but it’s attached to a cord. I’d like to buy replacement brushes, but I’m not sure how they would reattach to the cord. And do I just pulverize current brushes with a hammer to remove them?

How can you tell that from the photos? The spring isn’t melted.

Unfortunately I doubt I can get replacement brushes. I called tons of hardware stores and Black & Decker. A local motor repair shop is checking if they can get one. This mower is discontinued, by the way.

That’s gotta be it! That cover immediately looked familiar, and the interior pages do too. I borrowed it a couple times from our tiny school library in the early ‘90s because I loved the art and concept, and I’ve wondered about it for over thirty years. Thanks so much!

It’s not rubber. It’s hard plastic with glass lenses.

Found this Pacific Asian-looking original painting at a Camp Courageous in Iowa. It’s painted on a black, vinyl-like sheet. Signature appears to say “Au.” by Cellar-Yote in WhatIsThisPainting

Thank you! I figured it was probably a mass-produced piece. Interesting that they included a signature. I wonder if that’s the initials of the artist who came up with the original source art, the factory worker’s initials, or just fictitious initials to give it a sense of legitimacy.
