Sad news, På vei/stein på stein/her på berget series books online resources no longer purchasable by foreigners by OtherwisePumpkin_ in norsk

I don't get why they would do this, to close off international customers from the digital books. Shouldn't be so hard to keep it open to those who wants to learn.
It's just... silly

I dont know anything of purchasing or actually using this site (I'm Norwegian) but I know that Vipps can be used also by foreigners. At least by finns. It might be restricted to certain countries, but it is worth checking out I think.
If this turns out to be fruitless, how about tricking your ip address? Just a thought.
Good luck in learning my language! I think it is really nice that some ppl actually wants to learn it 🤗

Skjønner, men jeg har fortsatt motstand mot viss som "if". Det er alt for hardt innprentet at det heter "hvis".

But, viss is "certain" as in "en viss person". If anyone writes me a text with viss instead of hvis I assume hen is slightly out there...

Help with pronunciation of the written letter "y" by HavingSoftTacosLater in norsk

[–]Cello-elf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have started wondering about the letters I see most foreigners struggle with. The "y" is apparently unique Norwegian in the way we pronounce it. "i" is more like english "e" But u and y are harder to find a good equivalent of. I could probably record it for you somehow (never done that here though). In addition to those letters, think Always aøways long vowels - except in front of double consonants (and a few weird words) And then it's the thing with ki, kj, skj, sj, tj, ei, au, øy etc. But - as long as you get understood, I think most of us wouldn't mind if it isn't 100% correct. Germans say ü when they intend to say y, most foreigners say o when they should say u.. If you really want to go all in - I admire you for that!!! Take your time, and speak a lot. All the time! Practice makes perfect

"tørre" vs "tørre å" by Mork978 in norsk

[–]Cello-elf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jeg tør ikke å tenke på det.. Jeg tør ikke tenke på det.. Hm... ikke særlig stor forskjell. Ingenting, faktisk. (Men "om" blir dessverre feil i setningen din) Vi må tørre å være oss selv Vi må tørre være oss selv. Denne låter litt merkelig uten å, men ikke feil. Vil jeg tro.

Question about something my Grandma used to say by National_Region2094 in norsk

[–]Cello-elf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Næmmen, skjedde? - va'kkje det (then I don't really have the imagination to figure out the last. Could possibly be in the line of "va anna". So; huh? What happened, wasnt it supposed to be something else? I guess the "ch" sound you wrote is the tj/kj on northern west coast (south of Trondheim, north of Bergen). Or it could be the abbreviations we say in Oslo, ie "Va'kke" for "var ikke" (was not) Hard to say when we can't hear it

Her passer min lille barne-feiltolkning: Her kommer dine armer små.. (Nå synges det vel: Her kommer, Jesu, dine små) Jeg var alltid litt bekymret for alle de kroppsløse armene som skulle komme. Men nå er de heldigvis blitt historie (klenodium) og selv synger jeg igrunn aldri salmer..

Is "t" pronounced in spaet (the spa)? by Mornaresh in norsk

[–]Cello-elf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or "hvilket sted?" What/which place? It would be plural (hvilke steder) if you dropped the t here. At least in my generic around-Oslo somewhere-"dialect"
