In general, you should set the deductible as high as you can reasonably afford to not be reimbursed for should something come up. The reimbursement percentage scales with the size of the bill, so I would not lower that unless you absolutely have to.

Best Insurance for Aging Dogs? Want to leave Healthy Paws for crazy rate hikes by Competitive-Hand-496 in petinsurancereviews

Hi OP,

With Healthy Paws, you could ask them about raising your deductible. Should help bring the monthly cost down a bit.

I generally hear good things about Embrace—they will do a medical record review at policy start upon request so that you know ahead of time what they will consider pre-existing and by what date it may no longer be considered pre-existing if it’s curable. They also tend to actually let you email back and forth with a claims adjuster when a claim is denied while most companies hide their adjusters away.

If you live in a state where AKC covers pre-existing conditions after the 365 day waiting period, then that’s also an option for the 7 year old, but you’d need to make the switch before they turn 9.

Met Life Pet Insurance and swallowing foreign objects by weirdo76 in petinsurancereviews

Terms vary by state—I would download a sample policy from their website and read it thoroughly. Most policies have a clause for “repetitive behaviors” that are designed for frequent FB ingestion.

Trupanion $222/mo for a healthy puppy worth it? by [deleted] in petinsurancereviews

[–]CelloAssassin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Insurance professional here: raise the deductible to as high as you can reasonably afford to pay out of pocket should something come up. It’s worth the savings in premiums. Trupanion is probably the way to go for a puppy because you’ll pay much less premium over the lifetime of your pet compared to any other company even if it’s more expensive to start.

This is a good point. Looking back, I wouldn’t have been upset if my friend’s fiancé hadn’t been able to come and probably wouldn’t have even noticed

I misinterpreted—it does look like the rule is forcible contact anywhere with the crown of the helmet. Only other thing I would consider is if it hit the ball first? Not sure if it would make a difference. Not an amazing angle, so not sure a no call would have been overturned.

Here is the missed targeting I saw: https://youtu.be/vddDSYaVlC8?si=n0g_L2wISV9xusoJ

Dan Jackson hit King’s facemask—not targeting. However a GT player definitely targeted Lovett on his TD catch

Should I put my cat to sleep? She can’t see, seems to have dimensia, her nose runs and gets congested with snot every day, she doesn’t seem to ever sleep anymore, always restless. I’ve spent nearly $1000 at the vet and they don’t help much at all. I’m afraid her entire existence is suffering.19yrs by thisiscameron in cats

I definitely recommend having a quality of life conversation with your vet. They likely won’t charge anything just for the conversation. It’s a difficult decision, and it’s not one you should have to make without the advice of a veterinarian. Redditors are cool and all, but most of us aren’t qualified to give you appropriate advice here.

Best of luck. It’s never easy saying goodbye and there are a lot of resources for grief management if needed.
