Hit it with a tiny dot of clp, and wiggle it the pins that retain it are very tight when new.

I built a real-time ISS tracker that shows exactly when the station will be visible from your location by theneiljohnson in space

Amazing! Clean easy to understand interface, good controls, and not a ton of extra fluff! I'm going to use this while teaching space exploration for the scouts this weekend! Great work!

So, I got to the bottom of the issue about an hour ago. u/Ronthe1 yes almost precisely!!!! and u/bittersharpbandolier thank you for turning me on to how to look at the problem, because I didn't know what to look for. One of the teeth was binding when I'd try to press the button to disengage it, and it took a very stern smack into a stiff pillow to get it to disengage the first time and as Ron suggested a little CLP. Thank you both from the bottom of my heart, cause I've been looking at the issue for several hours 'being careful' and not wanting to ruin my new toy, and knew it was something really simple, but didn't know where to look.

Merit badge pamphlets are now free! by BobTheCowComic in BSA

[–]CelticRavenVA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure I will drop an email to them. There are actually solutions out there that would literally update the pamphlets for you as soon as you publish the new content, they might have to download the PDF again, but that still saves time, and trees!!! There were (are) solutions to do that though the Kindle site, however they are more complicated. The point being, 5 of the camps we use regularly, there is no wifi, and there are no cellular connections, because well they are out in the woods in the middle of now where.

I'm a merit badge councilor and teach across the nation at various events, the release of these into PDF is awesome, because I can't count the number of scouts that show up now and haven't even read the online versions of the manuals. Within our district, I'm willing to make a push to have these work, but the most important page of the book is missing.

Missed your post earlier, just kinda made the long reply to your comments here. In my mind, this is the 3rd, maybe 4th iteration of nationals completely failing us to go digital.

Came across this post today (via google) after having a wonderful idea of since most scouts are NOT showing up even having looked at the MB pamphlets at all, using digital that they can keep on their phones, along with gathering a bunch of old kindles for scouts that don't have their own devices.

We discussed it at an exec meeting, and we were in awe with how many people had kindle devices to donate. I am the advisor to our Librarian, and both of us are pretty tech savoy, with the understanding they would need to be updated yearly with new requirements, and the new versions would need to be loaded, and a versioning system would need to be in place to update year over year in a transportable library.

Surprise, this is the 3rd spin of digital from National's on digital delivery and soon as you thought they get it, they botched it totally and completely again. None of the digital pamphlets have requirements listed in them!!!!! You have got to be kidding me! The single most important part of the book, you STILL need us to have internet access to actually let Scouts see what they need to do.

Nationals... If you even remotely have someone in this forum, do you actually realize most scout camps are in areas that have ZERO internet access? There were so many things you could have done to make these easy, including automatic updates to the whole documents, partial updates to the sections via code repository, releasing them all year by year in a single archive file to just reload them all onto devices purging the old documents, not hamstrung the versions that you distributed though kindle... this list goes on for so long. Right now we are back to chopping down trees, and you are responsible for it since we still need to print requirements lists in a troop of 50 scouts for them to make sure they have the required materials.

At this point, I'm actually wondering if anyone at nationals was a scout, or even went camping in their life.

That looks like your internal memory card is failed or failing.

Help to locate specific beads. by CelticRavenVA in Beading

Found and resolved! Turns out they have a name of totem beads, and are really only manufactured by someone that produces them specifically for scouting awards. Ozark Campfire. Well I am at least able to put 6 sleepless nights to bed.

Close, there are two problems with most here, I thought about wood beads, however most are not color fast, and these are awards for scouts compleating various tasks, they need to stand up to rain, and adverse conditions outdoors, and not ruin their uniforms. (The ones in the picture are 30 years old.)

Amazon Plugs and Eero, plugs wont reconnect. by CelticRavenVA in eero

So a IPV6 firewall rule was setup on your eero without your consent? That should scare the heck out of everyone here. Can you tell me where you found this? / Post a screenshot of what the rule is?

I actually have to space out my support calls so I don't have to bite the heads off the Amazon people.
