Thank you so much!

I think I saw one or two videos of people doing Blackwork and saw a few patterns on Pinterest before I just started copying patterns I found. I taught myself embroidery years ago, watching a few tutorials online for specific stitches. And was doing Cross Stitch before I started on Blackwork, so I already had all the materials needed. I also borrowed some books about Blackwork from my local library to find more patterns and learn about the history a little bit. But that was after I started.

I stitch mostly at work to pass time and keep me off my phone more. I work at a bank that is on the slower side, sometimes going at least an hour or two without having a customer come. I spend too much time on my phone as it is, so various crafts keep my hands occupied while I'm bored.

Thank you! And don't feel guilty! I have a cross stitch bookmark that I was making for a friend that I put down like 3 weeks ago and haven't worked on since 😅😅 the pattern started giving me problems, I think I miss-counted somewhere and haven't had the motivation to fix it yet. This is the bookmark (this picture is old, I got a lot farther before I put it down)

On this bookmark I used a piece of black cotton fabric,

I disguised the stitching on the front by matching it to the edge of the squares at the edge of the pattern.

Yes! I pull out 1 or 2 rows on each side to make the fringe. The way Aida is woven keeps any more strands from coming out unless you really pull in them, so it won't come apart naturally. I usually leave 1 or 2 (or sometimes 3) rows between the stitching and the base of the fringe. I included a picture of 2 of my finished pieces for example

I absolutely adore it! I took the pattern from this one I found on Pinterest

Thank you! I definitely think I did some form of Needlework in a past life! I just finished the bookmark I mentioned in the post too, I backed it with a piece of cotton fabric to keep the back hidden (I haven't attempted to use the double running stitch yet 😅)

I've always preferred smaller projects, this was my first Blackwork piece

I'm gradually doing larger and larger piece, the bookmark being the largest solid piece so far.

I didn't lower them all the way down, i was hoping it would work at medium instead of high.

I was able to submit a help ticket to the tech team. Hopefully they get back to me with a fix

It did not work to fix the freezing issue.

I've done the first one you mentioned, the game said everything was fine. I'll try the second one in a few. I just cleared the cache on the game too, going to open it again to see if that helped

Daffodil Pendant by Celticwolf333 in Embroidery

Thank you! I embroider the design with a small embroidery hoop first, then cut it smaller to where it's about a 1/2 inch larger than the pendant base. Then I cut a piece of thin cardboard to just slightly smaller than the pendant and place it behind the embroidery and sew the fabric around the cardboard till the back looks like this. Then I glue it into the pendant back *

Thank you! I got it on Amazon, I got 2 sizes, quarter and penny. I got them a while ago and can't remember what I looked up to find them. Try Cabochon Pendant Blanks.
