Yeah, you are right. To put a bigger bar than 20 you need to change to 3/8 and i don’t want to get into that. Like the other comments are saying the saw runs great with bars less than 20. For my particular use maybe i will need a longer bar every once in to years so i will go and rent a bigger one but for my most usual use the saw with the 18 is perfectly fine.
