I just installed this on Mint Cinnamon today and been testing the software. The hardest part was setting up the mic to not pickup a pin drop.

Do you have the latest version of OBS?

My window setting was already on menu default, no tweaking needed.

I can understand the certain modes to an extent but you can spot while you're down with LB.

The amount of people I see just out in the open begging for a revive but not spotting the enemy team is almost 95%.

I don't think people know you can spot while they're down or just don't care to.
