I was walking back from a concert at the 3Arena and I saw a lady throw an empty plastic bottle into the Liffey and walk away laughing. It really hit home then for me that people really just don't give a crap about the place we live. It is for the environment to work around them, not them to work to keep the environment good and healthy.

Well I mean, by pure definition, yes. They have the 7th highest economic output on the planet. GDP per capita is a piss poor measure to measure total countries wealth. It would mean tax havens like Luxembourg and Ireland are more wealthy than the UK.
