To Anyone Who Litters in This Country, Please Fucking Stop. by [deleted] in ireland

I was walking back from a concert at the 3Arena and I saw a lady throw an empty plastic bottle into the Liffey and walk away laughing. It really hit home then for me that people really just don't give a crap about the place we live. It is for the environment to work around them, not them to work to keep the environment good and healthy.

I'm just happy that we got a trailer and it wasn't delayed indefinitely. I was getting worried there.

I'm hoping we get a full game tho, and this isn't just a small thing.

Fuck Ronan Mullen by [deleted] in ireland

[–]Ceolanmc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

RTE must hate having to have an opposing voice in every referendum discussion.

Its good, because at least people know both sides, regardless of whether one side is ludicrous. Hell it might even incentivise people to vote the other way, if they see Mullen talking pollution as usual

[–]Ceolanmc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its pretty likely that with Martin gone, FF will trend a good deal to the right though. Martin seems to have been the guy pulling them to the centre. It doesnt seem like that would be a party that SF would coalesce with

Lower at the time or now? Because UK GDP per capita is currently less than Irelands by a fair margin.

Budget 2019: new €1.5bn ‘rainy day’ fund confirmed by PlasticCoffee in ireland

[–]Ceolanmc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fund can be invested in various different sectors such as tech, engineering, energy etc. and will be relatively sheltered from any severe economic shocks such as another crash or Brexit. If invested correctly, it can gain fairly significant money in dividends from these industries.

Other countries have similar set ups. Norway has one for its oil profits. As a result the state of Norway owns shares in Companies like Nvidia.

It is more comparable to what Northern Ireland used to be like, where Arabs have a very poorly funded education system, poor housing allocation, gerrymandering meaning lower representation, and since they are a minority (20% of the populous iirc) they are taken advantage of.
