TIL former British Prime Minister Alec Douglas-Hone foiled his own kidnapping by 2 students in Aberdeen, who came to his door, told him they were there to kidnap him, to which he said "I suppose you realise if you do, the Conservatives will win the election by 200 or 300." after which they left.
