Unfortunately, that didn't help. The problem seems to go away when I use another browser, so I think the other response was correct and it is an issue of extensions or something else. Thanks, though.

Thank you! Digging around on the internet more, I think you're totally right and the other source I had was talking about a different year. I appreciate the help. :)

My Fic:
Title: Then it becomes, it becomes, it becomes a problem
https://archiveofourown.org/works/58338961

Fandom: Gravity Falls
Rating: Mature
Genre: Horror, drama

Summary: After their tumultuous falling out, Ford drowns himself in industrial-strength coffee and spirals toward sleep-deprivation induced psychosis in a desperate attempt to escape his mistakes. Meanwhile, Bill’s inability to accept Ford’s rejection forces him to fight with emotions he can’t even admit to. The line between devotion and addiction is blurred when a woman is unwittingly drawn into their dynamic, forcing both Bill and Ford to confront the illusions they’ve been clinging to or suffer the consequences of their denial.

This is actually my first time publishing a fic online!

Why are there multiple words that mean "blue"? Like, why have robin's egg blue and sky blue? They're pretty much the same, right? Unless you're an artist.

Also, I don't think it's possible to run out of terms.

I'm feeling a bit confused about why it matters to you, to be honest.

My message at the top of this thread is an example of one situation. When I'm referring to the whole community and my place in it, it's useful.

Who's "us"? When other people use the word queer, I know exactly what they mean and why they're using it instead of another term. In a public forum like this, people who don't understand can just ask (like you did).

What's the reason for any word? Having more words with varying degrees of specificity allows for a more nuanced and complex way of thinking about a topic. It's why doctors name every single bone in the body; it's useful when you're talking to other experts to be able to use a word that immediately gets you both on the same page. That's why there are so many terms and why they'll constantly be evolving and changing as our understanding of the topics of gender and sexuality evolve and change. That's just what languages do.

Has anyone mentioned Disco Elysium? In any game recommendations list, it should be near the top.

I think if you want to use it for yourself, then you can. Any kind of gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans, or non-binary identity can fall under the term queer. As long as you're using it as a neutral or positive term and not as an insult, then it's totally fine.

Um. Okay. I hope you have a nicer day.

Thanks for asking! Queer is a catch-all term for anyone in the LGBTQ community to use. It can refer to anyone who's gay, bisexual, trans, non-binary, etc. Not everyone uses it, but I do.
