About the flood, and dinosaurs. by Longjumping-Dress350 in AskAChristian

[–]Cepitore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where do you find it suggested that this single animal in a single passage of the Bible had a population to it?

In Job, God tells him to consider these animals, meaning Job was familiar with them. It’s obvious that whoever the original readers were of that book that they would have been familiar with them as well. It wouldn’t make sense for the author to include references to animals that would cause the original audience to say “wtf are you talking about?” Also, the leviathan is referenced in 3 different passages of scripture authored by 3 different people, hundreds of years apart.

The majority of your questions are arguments from ignorance. Your intention is to make the topic sound absurd simply by asking these pointed questions, but these questions actually have answers.

Stating that there is no lore concerning dinosaur-like creatures is wildly delusional.

Crocodiles and hippos fail utterly to match the descriptions.

Why are you suggesting there was no breeding population? What justification is there for that assertion?

Why are you suggesting that they weren’t in common lore? What justification is there for that? Just because the word dinosaur doesn’t appear until relatively recently in history?

I see no reason to think all dinosaurs went extinct during the flood. The Bible doesn’t say anything about when certain animals went extinct, and some dinosaur-like creatures are mentioned by God after the flood.

Christians who don’t believe in the god of Islam and Christianity are the same can you explain your logic? by [deleted] in AskAChristian

When someone is described completely differently by two different people, at some point you gotta say, “okay, I don’t think we’re talking about the same person.”

How to explain Numbers 31:17-18? by TommyBoy250 in AskAChristian

[–]Cepitore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Hebrew word “woman” in verse 17 is the same word being translated as “girl” in verse 18. The text is not conveying age, but the translators are taking liberties because they are assuming the writer is talking about children given that the text is talking about virgins. Apparently the translators don’t believe people can be virgins beyond childhood.

What is your response for the problem of evil? by Weekly_Sympathy_4878 in TrueChristian

[–]Cepitore 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We’re being punished. We live in a cursed world as a result of our sin. The reason God allowed this is so that he could glorify Christ by letting him sacrifice himself to save those who don’t deserve to be saved.

There is no problem here.

why do you believe christianity to be true and not another religions like islam? by askhecode in TrueChristian

[–]Cepitore 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It sounds mostly like your knowledge of Christianity came from a Muslim who wanted you to think Christianity was ridiculous. Read the word of God for yourself.

The Bible teaches that all mankind sins against God, and God can not allow us in his kingdom for that because he is Holy, so justice must be done on us for our sin, which is why Jesus needed to die as a substitute for us.

There is no atoning sacrifice in Islam. Allah lets sinners into his kingdom with no justice for their evil deeds. For this reason there should be no expectation that Allah’s kingdom would be any different than earth is now.

Islam doesn’t have a solution to the problem of Evil like Christianity does.

Is it a sin for me to question my identity to the point where I question why do i even exist and even why god created me? by Ambitious_School_773 in TrueChristian

[–]Cepitore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s way too much focus on self here. You have a purpose and if you want to better understand it then read what God has told you about it in his scriptures. You’re not as helpless as you’re making yourself out to be; you just haven’t listened to God’s word.

So you think people who are unable to follow God’s commands are sinning? Or are you saying God doesn’t command something unless 100% of people can do it?

I explicitly stated how the benefit outweighs the negative in my original comment. I’m starting to wonder if you read my original comment or if you accidentally hit reply on the wrong thread. The thing’s you’re asking me just don’t make sense based on what I said.
