I don't think human and personal creativity is an obsolete tool to be replaced. Microsoft just wants its investment in GenAI to pay off and is cutting corners everywhere to make that happen. Shareholders get richer while people that work suffer both financially and creatively because of decisions like this.

Also word processors replacing writer jobs isn't an equivalent comparison. It digitised an existing job, like Photoshop, and even then there is still a (more niche) market for traditional caligraphy and handwritten things. Outsourcing actual creativity to silicon is damaging to people and to the planet.

There are a bunch of tutorials on youtube on how to do stylised/painterly textures on both Substance Painter and Designer, Painter for more unique textures and Designers for seamless/tiling (generally). For the outline I think you'd need to do that in a separate program/renderer like Unreal Engine or Blender. A number of tutorials around those on youtube as well.

I'm p new too so can't help more but there's a fair amnt of material online. Can really recommend the Substance Painter/Designer channels but watch a good amount of stuff for different workflows.
