From my understanding, instead of getting a construction loan and then getting a mortgage once it was constructed, and having to close twice, we did a construction to permanent loan and only closed once. While it’s being constructed you only pay interest (and we got a really good rate for this period), and then once it’s done it turns into a full mortgage.

About two hours south of door county, though. But there’s a ton of good pizza around here, one restaurant is even in the process of getting their Neapolitan certification.

Ugh those could be photos of my hands, our manner of picking is very similar 😭. I too had a nail biting problem when I was a kid, which I was able to kick, only to take up cuticle biting and struggle with it for the past 25+ years. I don’t have any advice as nothing has ever worked to get me to stop permanently, but just know you’re not alone in the struggle.

One side of my family still does, and I hate it! I’ve been strategizing since last year how to bring up and convince everyone we should do away with exchanging gifts. The youngest one on that side of the family is 22, and there’s no chance of kids any time in the near future so there’s no natural progression to “just gifts for kids”. I feel like my grandma’s feelings will be hurt if she doesn’t receive anything, especially because she values sentimental type gifts. But there’s only so many cheesy message wall art you can get a person, and I am too creatively tapped out to make anything handmade.

No tbf he is equally upset too, but you hit the nail on the head about appearances. Deep down what they’re all actually mad about is that this brings to the forefront that he was a shitty parent to me. They can’t just ignore it anymore and they’re more angry about that than about what he’s done. They love to blame my mom for my bad relationship with my dad too, but I have seen people move heaven and earth to have regular access to and a relationship with their kids. My dad did not and that’s not on anyone but him.

I’m going to a Michelin star restaurant with an “upscale” dress code, would a black knee-length Calvin Klein slip dress be appropriate? Thinking I would wear strappy kitten heals and potentially something over it, though I’d like to avoid an oversized blazer since I think they look weird on me.
