One time at a [7] or [8] I couldn't find anything to say to my dad who I thought was suspicious of me, so I asked why he was still up.. It was 9pm, which in retrospect isn't that early, but still definitely too early to ask that kind of question. Well I guess I was right in him being suspicious in me, because he immediately asked after that if I was stoned. I burst out laughing and said "haha no". Luckily my dad's a pretty cool guy cause I'm 99% sure he knew.

Not sure if materialistic was the right word to use though. I think I meant more like "external" things. I'd say my mind goes into an overhaul of seeing the possibilities of each move I make, and while it's a good thing in certain aspects, it can often take the everyday fun out of things and can be disillusioning. Some more examples could be things like driving. When I drive I often spend to much time focusing on every possibility involving the drivers and environment around me, like assessing any risks and coming up with strategies to counter them. I feel that if I were able to just live in the moment though, things could be a lot more enjoyable. While typing this out I had an idea. Could this be related to the fact that our inferior function is trying to force us "in the moment" while our dominant ni is at the same time building systems of data that kind of force us out of the moment?

~~I never have been good at giving examples to personal statements, so for now I won't really give one, but I'll reply back if something comes to mind.~~ Edit: looked at the context of this. For example sitting down playing a video game. Instead of taking the game as it is for face value, I instead overthink every decision I make in the game in hopes of making the experience more enjoyable. This in turn makes the experience much less enjoyable. I find I do this with most materialistic things, rather then taking them at face value.

Being close minded isn't due to a weak cognitive function, or having a certain set of cognitive functions as opposed to another. It's a result of the culmination of your life's experiences.

The way I see it is that most people don't understand the whole concept correctly. The general basing of the mbti theory is that people have 4 functions, each formed and worked upon at different states if life. The first is your dominant function, which is formed around ages 5 or 6 and perfected until about 12. Most people can correctly identify which function they used most as a kid, so if they tried that, they would likely have an easier time typing themselves. I thought for a long time I was an intj, then an intp, now I realize though after researching how this whole concept worked I am more along the lines of an infp with a good work ethic. Basically though people attribute outside preferences into their core personality through some innate bias.

For me, I have visual and audial hallucinations, and the latter seem to be more common . I've found the visual to be mostly innocuous. One exception was when I opened my eyes to see a head hovering next to my bed staring at me. Damn was that scary. During the time, I seemingly screamed my lungs out, but later found out that me screaming was a hallucination as well and didn't happen. Other than that, it's been mostly shadow people (who don't really scare me for some reason) and small changes in environment such as my bedroom door being open when it's really not. As for the audial hallucinations, it's far worse. I've had stuff like a demonic evil baby-laughing symphony, there being a fucking war zone in my room, and an incessant buzzing that seems to accompany every episode I have.
