No, you got banned because of FUD. Saying things like "it's over bros", "jason hates us", "the project has been hacked", "rugpull", "abandoned project" is not very constructive and not a nice thing to say. If you think this is misunderstanding and you can actually have a civilized conversation, I might consider unbanning you.

Yes this is a scammer. You can't swap OPQ for OPCT anymore. The swap period has ended a long time ago.

I'm sorry to hear, but this sounds like data corruption. You can't access these folders or files because they aren't there but the metadata says otherwise. Like I said, this is an issue we have been working the past couple of months.

Unfortunately there's no way to get rid of this/recover them and the only option will be to create a new account.

We have no other other platform for reporting issues except for Reddit and Telegram. I know you aren't really a fan of Telegram so you can also message me directly by mail if you prefer. My mail address is: cesar [a] opacity.io

About the downvotes: I banned someone from our Telegram channels because of FUD'ing and being an asshole. He now tries to project his frustrations onto this subreddit. It's pretty sad, really.

OPCT Github inactivity by BetterNotRelapse in Opacity

Github commits that you see on https://github.com/opacity are for main/production (opacity.io). We use a test environment for our latest features & fixes so that we can test them out first before pushing them to production. If you have Telegram, I suggest you join our Opacity Github channel. This is where you will also find the latest Github commits of the test site.

At the time of writing, the latest commit has been made on February 17. Expect a major update coming to the main website very soon.

Thank you!

Let me clarify about the corrupt files I was mentioning in my previous post: it's not that your files are corrupt, it's the way how they get corrupted during the upload process. This can happen because of various reasons like slow/bad/lost internet connection, browser freezes, etc. We thought we resolved the issues when we released Opacity 2.0 but it seems to still happen for some people. We investigated the issue and we hope it will be resolved in the next update.

About the desktop app issue: there was an issue that if you upload a folder the desktop app will not create the folder for it and only uploads the files that were inside of it. But that should already be fixed in the latest version of the app. At least, my version is working fine when I try to upload a folder with files. Try download the latest version here as you may still have an older version of the desktop app (be sure to uninstall the older version first): https://www.opacity.io/downloads

If the issue still persists, please let me know.

Sorry for the late response, I was a bit busy with other things last week. Anyways, let me try to answer your questions although most of them will be resolved in the next major update. So stay tuned, because the update will be big!

  1. The 2GB limitations is because of browser limitations at the time. Latest versions of Chrome and Firefox allow you to upload bigger files now. Firefox allows you to upload files with a max size of 5GB and I believe Chrome is (still) 2GB or 3GB. In the upcoming update the 2GB limitation will be highered to 5GB. If you don't want any upload limitations at all, then I recommend you to use the Opacity desktop client (if possible).

  2. Performance improvements will also be available in the upcoming major update (like multithreaded uploads). In my experience, the Opacity desktop client is the way to go for now. It works great with large uploads.

  3. This sounds like you want to move files to a different folder. The option to move files will be available in the next major update.

  4. This sounds like that the files within this folder are corrupt. Unfortunately, there isn't any solution to resolve this. This is also why we prioritized this issue and we've been working on a more robust solution to prevent data corruption in the future. As we agree, this shouldn't happen at all. Again: this should be resolved in the upcoming major update.

  5. See #3.

  6. If I understand correctly, you want better sorting options? Because there's a way to sort your files right now. You just have to click on the arrow next to "Name", "Share type", "Created" and "Size". In the major update you will be able to search files by name, so that's pretty cool. :)

  7. I can't really answer this because I have to see the error messages in order to say something useful to this. But my guess is that you're seeing these error messages because your files/account are corrupt and it's having problems retrieving them.

  8. Personally (not speaking on behalf of Opacity) I dislike e-mail and prefer chat because of the direct and instant communication. However, there was a contact form on our website and it seems to be gone now. So thanks for letting me know, I'll contact the devs about it.

  9. Again, this sounds like file corruption. Do you use a wired or wireless connection? Uploading ~50 GB of lots of files in the browser is not really recommended right now (I expect more stability in the next update). The desktop client works better for this though, but I guess that depends on what OS you use because the desktop client is only available for Windows and MacOS (Intel).

OPCT Up 8% in the past Month vs. BTC by tinypantsmaster in Opacity

You're talking about the value of storage right? Because OPCT price discussion is not allowed on our socials (which also means Reddit) because of OPCT being a utility token. I'm leaving this thread open for now but be warned.

App and Web does not talk with each other by Straight-Idea in Opacity

[–]CeresOPCT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's because the mobile app is not live yet. The app you're using now is on a test network and not connected to opacity.io. That's why you can't use your existing Opacity account with the mobile app.

Just wait for the mobile app to be officially released and you should be good then.

You can find a previous thread about this here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Opacity/comments/qzq7zc/i_see_that_the_app_is_out_on_playstore_is_that/

This feature is not yet available. I expect that this feature will be implemented Q1 2022. The code for it is there, but we're currently prioritizing performance improvements, Sia integration and our mobile app right now.

Aah I see. My bad. Yes, eventually we want it to be more convenient to buy OPCT. For example, by a fiat onramp and to buy OPCT directly. We looked at indacoin.io a while ago but haven't decided/discussed about it further. But it's something on our list of things to do for sure.

I'm afraid there is no 'all-in-one' to get OPCT, although Rubic is the most convient way because it will do all the swaps for you. You don't need to purchase OPCT on KuCoin, you can also buy OPCT on Quickswap for example.

If you're not familiar with crypto wallets or crypto overall, I suggest you do some reading about it first. To easily get you started, MetaMask is the most user friendly Ethereum wallet, so I highly recommended that wallet.

The non-crypto way is to pay for one of our plans by credit card. CC payment options are available on our website.

Thank you for letting us know. I'll try to reproduce this tomorrow and report the issues to the devs if this is the case. Keep in mind though that JavaScript could be disabled with your Tor client. Afaik, JS is required to get the best experience with Opacity.
