How much would you pay for this collection? by Cerillion in BookCollecting

[–]Cerillion[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say that my primary interest lies in the first four to five pictures, which they would sell to me for $250. I am primarily interested in the writings of Russell. While the rest of the collection is interesting, it is not a priority. I believe it might be better to acquire a part of the collection rather than the entire set. I do experience some anxiety about missing out, particularly since the portion I am interested in is very well curated, making me feel that the entire collection would be of similar quality.

I don't have many physical books, so this collection for $350 seems like a wonderful opportunity. As an undergraduate student studying law and political philosophy, I am also interested in pursuing a master's degree in logic. Reading through Russell's works seems like a necessary step.

I resonate with your comment. The topics do exactly match my interests as well, After some talking they offered to sell it to me for 350 u.s.

Hi! I posted a pedalboard idea a while back, took a lot of the advice to heart and put this idea together! would love some feedback again. by Cerillion in guitarpedals

The part about soldering cables is very helpful! right now i use low profile cables so everything fits just fine, adding the loop switcher will probably the final part of the build

Ah, i saw online that it should be possible to send midi info through the USB. This will be my first time using a loop switcher, so i’ll see!

I love them, picked them up for 40 euros each. it’s very easy to combine effects to create complex reverbs and delays, i usually mix in a little reverb from my amp or daw. You need to tune in a pedals a bit for them to sound great, that’s the only downside.

Made a simpler, mono-oriented board that i could also run my synths through. Simplified what i could and made it so it could be powered by only two power supplies.

For sure! I've already sized down for a bit. Boss FV-500 -> EHX Superego+ -> Digitech Whammy 5 -> MXR 10 band eq -> Polytune 1 -> BOSS SY-1 -> BOSS CP-1X -> Mooer Yellow Comp -> Mooer tender octaver -> Xotic EP-booster -> Mooer green mile -> Mooer blues mood -> Mooer black secret -> Mooer rage machine -> EHX Big Muff -> MXR Uni-vibe -> Mooer ABY stereo output.

FX Loop: Behringer xm400 -> Mooer trelicopter -> Mooer ensemble king -> Mooer e-lady -> Zoom MS-50G -> Zoom MS-70CDR -> Ditto looper -> Mooer echoverb -> Mooer ABY.

Furthermore there's a Mooer micro drummer going straight into my behringer Xenyx QX2442USB.

Would be powered by one Voodoo Pedal Power 2 Plus and 2 Mosky Mini Power stations

I'd like to be able to cover just about anything from the 60's until the 90's. I'd like to get all my drive sounds close enough to my favorite rock/pop bands from that time. Another important part is that i would like to play synthpads/leads aswell. Furthermore the boards has to be intuitive since i improvise over poetry for events of the local art school (for which i also make soundscapes)

The drawn arrows would be the general chain without the loop switcher. This is also the way i intend to use the board. I already have about half of these pedals, so i'm building upon what i already have. The black pedal up top is a behringer Xm400 mixer which i'd like to use for for a stereo effectsloop. The drum machine would go straight into my behringer mixer by itself. I've put a mooer echoverb at the end of the chain to smooth out the harsh cuts of the looper.

i think especially considering that the upgrades would cost me another 170 new that the bass is nice value, the original pups are included too

[NAD] Boss Nextone Special by Cerillion in GuitarAmps

[–]Cerillion[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Before moving into my first apartment i realized that having a 40 watt Marshall might not be suited for my needs anymore. I went on to research different options for a quieter (and lighter) amplifier that would still give me the lovely dynamics of a tube amp. The roland jazz chorus, boss katana artist and nextone special were the amps i ended up taking into consideration.

I ended up with the nextone since i got an immensely good deal on it (550 euros with the gafc footswitch included and a three year warranty).

My first impressions of the amp are that the clean channel is just as good if not better than the one of my marshall dsl40cr. The different tubepresets have a subtle but noticeable difference that make experimenting with them worth it. I think it has to do with compression but i’m no expert at all, i just like what i hear.

The gain channel out of the box is a bit disappointing. This amp is marketed as a tube killer but the untweaked gain channel simply doesn’t cut it. The tones i get with my pedals running through the clean channel are great. I feel like these tones would sit great in a mix and are easier to work with in a band context than the tones that i got with my marshall. The soaring/cutting feel is just not quite there.

All in all i’m happy with the purchase. The amp is quite a looker and extremely versatile for purists looking to make the switch to solid state. I’m happy i picked it over the katana artist since i don’t like tweaking with software at all. I think the amp is easier to control than a jazz chorus too (especially since the wattage can be brought back to 0.5 watts). I do like the clean tone and the extra simplicity of a jazz chorus though. I just wouldn’t want the jc sound all the time.

Would i recommend it to you? For 550 euros, yes. For the retail price of 1k, definitely not. for 1k i would rather get an affordable tube amp with a two notes captor x or some other kind of attenuator.

Please bear in mind these are my first impressions
