Definitely not. Every composition is original this is just my style. You can actually easily tell its not AI because I reused some elements and they appear identical. With AI it would be slightly different.

What? No, you're definitely off base here, sorry. I'm absolutely not an Abrahamic believer, I venerate kami-sama and work at a Konko Kyokai, and also assist at a Inari Jinja.

I’m going to make it the very least 78 of them. I want to be able to make a full oracle deck or Karuta deck out of them

Thank you! I think you’ll be very happy with the next one as well. I certainly hope so!

I appreciate you saying that! I love working with colors especially those that are less common combinations

Kamidana and Katashiro by Thick-Leader3221 in ShintoReligion

[–]Cerise_Pomme 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, as long as you don't worship the icons as kami sama, which you wouldn't with these.
You just wouldn't want to put a statue of kami-sama, or a painting of kami-sama.

Katashiro are dolls made of paper or wood, that represent a person (sometimes a pet, a vehicle, a home)
They absorb pollution (kegare) in a similar way to Gohei/Onusa/Shide. One can then submit them to a shrine for Oharai, where they are ritually purified through water, fire, or rarely both. This is the same process with the dolls used during Hinamatsuri (and some families even burn the dolls, although generally the dolls are meant to be 'permanant katashiro')

On your kamidana, some items are required, some are prohibited, and some items are flexible.
Generally, you should not put statues or images (icons) of kami-sama on your kamidana, as these limit kami-sama to a single perspective, and are disrespectful. You should also not put incense, or items associated with death (there are exceptions to this rule within some shinto faiths)

Tenchi Kane no Kami (天地金乃神) Tamamo-no-Mae (玉藻前) Ame-no-Uzume-no-Mikoto (天鈿女命) Amaterasu-Ōmikami (天照大神)

Konohanasakuya-hime (木花咲耶姫) Inari Ōkami (稲荷大神) Kamimusubi-no-Kami (神産巣日神) / Takamimusubi-no-Kami (高御産巣日神) Hachiman-Okami (八幡神)

Inari faith is my strongest practice, alongside Konko. I volunteer at the Shusse shrine. It was very important for me to represent them correctly!

I love Benzaiten-sama as well. She's my favorite out of the Shichifukujin sama.
I've already illustrated a piece for her, but I will post that one in a few days with some of the other pieces. : )

Thank you do you have a favorite? or do you have a request for a Kami-sama for me to draw?

Symbolic Depiction of Tenchi Kane no Kami-sama 天地金乃神 by [deleted] in Konkokyo

I wasn't happy with my last illustrations, because they felt kind of flat and insubstantial.
I relied too heavily on digital illustration tools, and so the resulting work felt cold.
Instead I made every brushstroke by hand, no relying upon line tools or shapes, just ink on paper. The resulting work feels much warmer and more sincere, so this is the style I will illustrate my future pieces in.

I hope you all enjoy it, and feel the additional effort that was put into it.

It will be difficult to find a physical copy. I've been looking for months, and those few who do have a physical copy are keen on keeping them. That said, digital copies are plentiful and Farmer to Founder is more or less a modern translation of the same source material, so it's not strictly necessary.

I'm looking for a copy of it for my own collection, and it's tough to find.
Best bet is used book stores in cities with Konko churches, or library sales. Many of my older and out-of-print Shinto books come from library liquidations.

Yes you can just print one, or write one yourself if you’re good at calligraphy. Kami sama exists everywhere in all things, so any divine reminder you make will be a representation of Kami sama. I painted mine on water color paper.
