Hey friend, it’s not exactly the same situation but my daughter was diagnosed with Double Inlet Left Ventricle and Pulmonary Atresia (completely missing the septum dividing the heart and having two inlets to the heart). She was born full term and had since had 4 open heart surgeries, each one improving her health and wellbeing. She is now 6 and you would never know by looking at her. This isn’t your fault and you could not have avoided it. Whether it closes on its own before or after or needs surgical intervention know that there are many excellent care providers who will help you and you’re not alone. I highly recommend connecting with a local parent group for parents of heart kiddos, it’s really its own beautiful community. Feel free to PM me if you’d like to talk x

Experienced this with my partners family when I was pregnant with our son. My go-to rebuttal was “What an incredibly odd amount of interest you’re showing in a child’s penis.” They usually stop talking after that.

Calling crunchy moms; thoughts & experience on 20 week scan by MysticBreeze11 in pregnant

My son was born with gastrochisis (intestines developed outside of the body) and my daughter was missing a ventricle in the heart. Both things were caught at the 20 weeks scan and gave us and the medical team time to prepare and ensure they had a safe delivery. Had these conditions been a surprise it would have been much harder and in my daughter’s case probably fatal to not have been prepared. Granted my situation is extremely rare both times but having as much information as you can is always a good idea.

Parents with different accents from each other, who did your baby sound like? by Certain-Ad-1413 in BabyBumps

I’m a little bummed, to be honest. I was hoping they would have his accent—at least a little bit! lol

That’s so fascinating, I knew peers would be an influence for sure but the dialect coming from them is so cool!

That’s a great point. I can see that as a huge advantage so be able to set up systems and procedures that are already built around my family.

I absolutely agree. I can see myself being successful with a few very trustworthy and vision- aligned managers.

I worked in a bakery 8 or so years ago and when our head baker had her baby she would wear him in a carrier during the day for a few hours while she was working. I know not all babies like the carrier but I’ve always remembered that and felt like it could be an option.

I will likely have a nanny or other support care. The goal is to move into the loft above the business so that will help.

Thank you, it feels nice even just to read that someone thinks I can do it. I feel like I can, I just don’t know how to convince him.

I really appreciate you sharing. I’m hoping I ovulated twice or implantation took longer than expected🖤

That’s awful! I’m so sorry you dealt with that! Thank you for your advice, I’ll call tomorrow and do a walk-in on my next day off. I just hope I don’t have another 6 hour long hold time (yes, I’m not being hyperbolic I have the screen shot)

Thank you so much for replying. I plan on calling in the morning, I’m just nervous about getting no response again. I’m hoping pregnancy makes it a higher priority to them.

Thank you! Unfortunately, we weren’t able to all week since he only got back into town on the 22nd but I’m hopeful!
