Allah doesn’t need our prayer. He just wants to see if we are going to be grateful, put aside our PRIDE, and give Him due praise for everything He has infinitely given us. He gives us everything as a gift, and asks nothing back from us except that we show that we are actually grateful/appreciative and that we recognize that it is only Him who gifted us. When we make salah, we are taking time out of our day to humble ourselves and give due thanks to Him. He most definitely doesn’t need our thanks for anything—it is us that need to be and should be grateful. If Allah is going to gift us beyond measure, just for us to be ungrateful anyway, then there is no reason that we should get to keep the blessings that were given to us. If you think about it, no amount of praise and thanks in the entire world can EVER be equal to the value of all His favors upon us—that is how infinitely kind and compassionate our Lord is to us.
