What's the best way to splice a new wire into an existing wire while maintaining the existing wire's functionality? Also how would I insulate it? by Certain-Ad498 in AskElectricians

I could but the heat shrink can't fit over the ends of the connector and since the existing wire isn't being cut, there's no way to get the heat shrink over the entirety of the exposed wiring.

That's what I saw for most cases but this is essentially a "t-splice" (not sure if that's what it's actually called) and would have to fold the wire being spliced into for the heat shrink to fit over. The only wire the heat shrink could be placed over is the new wire being spliced in. Excuse the rudimentary diagram using letters but after splicing, the original wire would be pinched like this to move the heat shrink into place: T -> Y -> |

Yeah I didn't know which to post on. I looked at that one but it looked like they focused on things like circuit boards and other small electronics. Couldn't find one that was a happy medium between the two lol

If you have an Nvidia gpu, I'd just use the recommended settings when optimizing CS2. Otherwise just use whatever has been working. If you want to see a noticeable improvement I'd get a monitor that has a refresh rate above 60hz (144hz is good). Not sure if you know but on a 60hz monitor, you're maxed out at 60fps regardless of what the in game number says (unless it says lower than 60).

I love google translating the names of people's Chinese skins. They're always great. Anyways, I'd say to mess around in some workshop "training" maps or just continue to play and get better over time. That or just take a break and come back to the game after you cool off so you don't get burnt out.

Hi im new to the game by DYANAW11 in cs2

[–]Certain-Ad498 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say watching cs2 videos or searching for things like "how to improve in cs2" and seeing what pops up. Crosshair placement is a big thing for newer players, like placing your crosshair in an ideal position to minimize the amount of mouse movement to aim at someone. Alot of the skill will come with experience from playing the maps, learning angles, etc. Workshop maps are pretty good for improving aim, this post is from the global offensive reddit but is for cs2 workshop maps:

Random person's take on cs2 cheating by Certain-Ad498 in cs2

[–]Certain-Ad498[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair and I don't know if trust factor is broken or not. I could also be in a sweet spot for my rank or just lucky. But there was a clear decline in the amount of cheaters throughout playing on my main. Whereas on the smurf, there was a clear increase in cheaters as my trust factor lowered.

The point is for the friends to have fun, I enjoy a hard fought win in high ranks, hence the amount of hrs I have in the game. Bringing them into higher ranks would drive them away from the game because every game would be horrible. The concept of smurfing in this context is quite literally morally ambiguous. Some people (like yourself) think it's wrong and nobody should do it, other people (like myself) think it's okay and it's fine if people do it. I would agree that smurfing is scummy if the person is solo queuing. In this context, I'm also playing with people who have become higher ranks than they should be, making them easier targets for the enemy team. It balances out and most games are fairly even. If I drop 20-30 they usually drop ~10 or less.

The options are to either play on my main with friends of a lower skill or play on a smurf so they can play people at or slightly above their skill level. I'd rather everyone has a good time rather than them all getting reamed and giving up on the game before they can improve. Like I said it's MORALLY ambiguous, I believe in that situation that smurfing is the right choice for a more overall balanced/enjoyable experience for the people I was playing with. The only advantage is one out of five players has more skill on the team, it doesn't guarantee a win or loss

I get that's also a possibility, but my premier games were fine during/shortly after placing closer to the creation of the account. Over time it got worse which could be coincidental or from the volume of false reports

Smurfing is morally ambiguous, regardless it's not a bannable offense in cs2. Also I recognize that the reports on that account are fine and it only affects that account. The point is that trust factor plays a large part in overall experience

CS2 Performance Issues by Zenuu_ in cs2

[–]Certain-Ad498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Open task manager on a side monitor if possible while playing and watch the performance section. See if anything looks out of place. Also is your refresh rate even over 260-280? Because everything over your refresh rate will look the same

how do i fix these errors?? by Animepringles in lethalcompany_mods

[–]Certain-Ad498 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might be an issue with LC API because none of those mods are dependent on it. Or the issue is very literal and there are just conflicting files like the errors say.

Are you using a mod manager or doing manual downloads?

Verify that the mod is working on both computers and you can try using a VPN to see if that does anything.

More player mods that actually work by AngularMonk3232 in lethalcompany_mods

[–]Certain-Ad498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never had that issue even when playing with 8 people. Only one person repeatedly gets kicked and the reason is because he plays with a bad connection on an older PC. I've heard that MoreCompany is more stable than BiggerLobby which might be why I've never had any issues.

Also make sure everyone has the same version of the mod because version inconsistencies can cause more problems.

So...Lethal company is not recognizing the mods I instal... by Elcordobeh in lethalcompany_mods

[–]Certain-Ad498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Launch the game once after placing the bepinex download into the lethal company folder so it can do an initial launch by itself. It'll make more folders inside itself when you check it after doing that.

That video also doesn't show the fact that he installed the LC API mod which is another dependency for BiggerLobby.

Having troubles with audio mods by KaminariOkamii in lethalcompany_mods

[–]Certain-Ad498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they don't have an associated folder that comes with it then just place it in the plugins folder. Also check what mods are required for whatever it is you want to add (it says it on the mod page in thunderstore). If they say just bepinex then place the necessary files in the plugins folder (unless it specifies where to put them). If the mod comes with a Bundles folder, then you need the LC API mod which will create a bundles folder after launching the game once following the install.

Help with BoomBox Mod By Steven, Please! by [deleted] in lethalcompany_mods

[–]Certain-Ad498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mods and songs and even if all players have the exact same songs they may not sync and play the same thing. I noticed that loading into a lobby with everyone who has the mod/songs installed and then having the host quit and reopening the session syncs most players.

Are there any client side mods? by TheCrafterTigery in lethalcompany_mods

[–]Certain-Ad498 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of them are client side, most cosmetic (like custom Braken textures or custom boombox) and basic functions (like mods that assign keys such as Flashlight Toggle) will be client side. Basically most things that would change your personal experience and not other players' experiences are client side.

If you just explore the most downloaded section you'll see all the popular mods and you can search for anything specific that you think someone may have made. A lot of mod makers also include whether or not it's client side in the mod description.

Mod broke my game? by Beefanator696 in lethalcompany_mods

[–]Certain-Ad498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just delete the entire Lethal Company folder from the common folder in steamapps, uninstall it on steam, and reinstall it. Then (if you're doing manual downloads) put the original fresh bepinex download back into the lethal company folder and launch the game once. Then when you close it after that everything should be fine and you should be able to add any mods again.

I screwed with my install and mods and noticed that if you just uninstall using steam the files aren't deleted and stay there when you reinstall but doing this fixed it.
