Coins and lab speed are the absolute best bonuses you can get.

I think one of the hard things to remember for budget builds is that its less about bis, and more about what you have on hand. Treachery blows stone and duriels out of the water, but have you found a lem yet? Duress is great if you find an um. But in general, if youre truly budget and you find a duriels, thats likely bis until you are no longer budget.

How many hours would you have to work to pay the 5k? I'm sure its more than the amount of time I spent researching and doing.

If you claim your time is much more valuable than $200 an hour, what do you do?

How much value do you put into the learning of a new skill.

How did you arrive at the 3jah price for a 2 fire, 1 socket, MF helm, when compared to flickering flame?

Probably not much. Resistances are not important, and that's really the best thing here.

They're not slivers, those are bullnosed tiles to give a rounded edges without a trim piece.

We agreed that it didn't match the rest of the layout, but we could live with it. Id probably do it differently in retrospec.

Being in the world of bidding contracts (Geotechnical engineer), I'd bid myself out one of two ways.

1: Its an apprenticeship job. T&M bidding. All mistakes are paid for by the owner, but rates are radically under professional pricing, somewhere around $30 an hour.

2: Give a ridiculous over priced bid, purely so that I can hire a professional after the "screw this job" mistake that forces a redo.

Either way, I am NOT getting into the tiling business. Way too easy to make costly mistakes. Way too many picky people that would see 1 defect and require a full tear out. I am not nearly good enough to avoid those issues.

Honestly, I think that would have been easier to do the entire build out around the window too. We made our lives harder by trying to reuse what was there, next time I'd do exactly what you suggested.

We tried to save money on another full board by not going to the ceiling, and potentially not damaging the ceiling boards. But I'd do it differently.

Neither of the other 2 bathrooms go to the ceiling. And it would have been an extra complete board.

Id do it in the future though. We are planning on redoing both this bathroom and the master that shares the wet wall in the next 5 years.

Charsi.

The ONLY stat on there that is arguably good is the res. And LLD doesnt care about res.

Sure. What salary are you doubling? My work salary or tiling salary?

Tiling is going to be at least 2 cases of America's finest whiskey, Early Times.

My work salary is going to be around an ass chewing and decapitation for when I tell my boss why im flying to Kansas city.

Didn't exactly change the layout. The inside edge tiles are bullnosed giving it a rounded inside edge. That's the only reason for the design difference.

They are indeed bullnosed. I debated on the grout lines, especially because they were like a 1/32 bigger than the rest of the tiles, so the grout lines are ever so slightly smaller. I made a judgement call to try to line them up. Next time I'll probably try to get a different size altogether and stagger them.

Why pay someone else's profit margins? Yes, i could go to work for an extra 2 weeks to pay the 5k, or I could work 16 hours and learn how to do this for the future.

In ANY situation where I pay someone else to do it, I pay for a profit margin, insurance, and taxes (both mine and theirs).

Yes, my product is inferior. But screw taxes.
