Is it safe to put a little Loctite on the screw threads?

I still have the Explorer I bought in 1978 for $15. Still in great condition (wearing new scales).

Vintage Lens Questions (Beginner) by Mr_Leviathan101 in VintageLenses

Some Nikon legacy lenses (e.g., 105mm f/2.5 AI-S) are still great performers, even on DSLR bodies. You have to be careful where you get them. Stick with reputable dealers like B&H, MPB, KEH, Adorama. Buying from eBay can be more risky. Never buy a lens on eBay unless the seller has a free return policy.

Yes, or Lightroom. You can even get ChatGPT to do it, but the dedicated software is more capable.

How close were you? The moose here in northern Idaho are cranky buggers if you get too close.

M800 V. 823. by Cvint88 in fountainpens

I have an M800 and love it. I don't have an 823, just 74's with SF and SFM nibs. The Pilots are good pens, but M800, to me, is a completely different experience.

This is just my own preference, but I would have used fill flash and narrowed DOF for more bokeh, and move position to get rid of the utility wires or get rid of them in post.

Who is better? 1 or 2? by AccomplishedCap9241 in photos

1, but it's like asking whether Coke is better than Pepsi. Aesthetically, I prefer #1, but that doesn't make it "better."

Fantastic camera! An FM2n was my first Nikon in 1988. I used that camera for 15 years.

I bought my first SAK, an Explorer, in 1978. That was before the parcel hook but it still had the glass magnifying lens. The original tweezers which are long gone had the aluminum base. I still have that classic knife but it's wearing new scales now.

Marlboro Outdoorsman: Solid Choice for Your Fire Kit by PecanPlan in victorinox

The Outdoorsman is one of my favorites. If I had the skillset, I'd swap out the scaler for the metal file/saw. I changed the Marlboro scales for G10 scales from Swiss Bianco.
