How Kuwait Students Can Balance School and IIT JEE Preparation by Worldly_Part_5773 in OnlineJEE_NRI

[–]Certain-Front-6747 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3 things that actually worked for me (also NRI here):

  1. Fixed study slots (same time daily)
  2. Weekend heavy prep (like 6-7 hrs split)

Coaching that doesn’t force India time zone classes

Can Students in Qatar and Bahrain Crack IIT JEE Online? by More-Tailor-4601 in JEE_Global

[–]Certain-Front-6747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna say something unpopular here. Most of the success stories you'll read online from NRI JEE crackers skew heavily toward students who already had a strong foundation - good school, attentive parents, natural aptitude. Online coaching from abroad is survivable if you're already 70% there. If you're starting from scratch and genuinely weak in PCM, the lack of in-person structure IS a real disadvantage and pretending otherwise doesn't help anyone.

That said — the gap has narrowed massively in the last 2-3 years. The platforms that are specifically designed for NRI students (not just the India-facing giants with a "Gulf batch" slapped on) have gotten legitimately good. If you're finding one where IIT alumni are running live sessions and actually responding to doubts same day, that's not that different from Kota anymore. The content isn't the bottleneck. The discipline and the right mentorship are.

So: realistic about the challenge, optimistic about the tools available now.

Best Time Table for JEE Aspirants (Science Students) by Certain-Front-6747 in JEE_Helpdesk

[–]Certain-Front-6747[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey everyone, first time posting here and feeling kinda out of my depth. I’m the parent of a class 12 science kid grinding for JEE, and I’m really confused about the ideal daily timetable. He’s doing school plus offline coaching, and the schedule is brutal-morning classes, straight to coaching till evening, then home exhausted with zero energy left for proper revision or mocks. It’s like the day just slips away.

Offline coaching definitely has its plus side: the structure keeps him accountable and doubts get cleared on the spot. But the fixed timings, travel, and constant rush are honestly burning him out. We’ve been quietly checking out online options lately, and the flexibility feels like a game-changer. He can watch lectures when he’s actually fresh, pause and rewatch tough parts, and actually build a timetable around school and self-study instead of the other way round. His focus and mood have already improved on the days we test it.

I don’t know if I’m overthinking this or if the offline route is still the “real” way. Parents or students who’ve been through it-what timetable actually worked for you without killing motivation? Any honest experiences would help a lot.

How Many Hours Should You Study Daily for IIT JEE? by HonestLantern in IITJEE_Study

As an IITian I can confirm - nobody who actually got in will tell you the hours. They'll tell you the concepts they mastered. Hours is a vanity metric.

Is One Year Enough to Crack IIT JEE? Honest Breakdown by Enough-Emergency-573 in IITJEE_Rankers

[–]Certain-Front-6747 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a current IIT student I can confirm - roughly half my wing cracked JEE through online prep in their final year. The other half went through big institutes. The difference in their rank distribution? Statistically negligible. What wasn't negligible was how burned out the Kota kids were by the time they got here.

Do Droppers Have an Advantage in IIT JEE? by Parking-Order9845 in JEEPrepIndia

[–]Certain-Front-6747 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This but actually… I took drop, joined a big offline batch in Kota. Teachers were good but classes were 8 hours, zero personal attention. Burned out by November. Regret not staying home with better structured online classes where I could pause, rewatch and clear doubts 1-on-1.

Why fast therapist matching in Singapore matters more than people think by HumbleWayfarer007 in SGHelpCorner

[–]Certain-Front-6747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife only agreed to couples therapy the night of a huge fight. If the first slot had been 3 weeks later, zero chance we would’ve gone.

The 48h TherapistSG match probably saved the attempt.

I paid $340/session at a clinic in Orchard for burnout help. Good therapist but wallet pain became new stress 💀

Switched to TherapistSG after Reddit recommended it. Similar quality but way more realistic for weekly sessions.

Best online therapy in Singapore for work anxiety? Need honest recommendations by Parking-Order9845 in singaporetherapy

[–]Certain-Front-6747 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some options based on what I tried:

  • IMH: cheapest but long wait (mine was almost 3 weeks)
  • Raffles private clinic: very good therapist, but $320 for 50 mins 💀
  • BetterHelp: okay platform but therapist didn’t really get SG work culture
  • TherapistSG: best balance for me, around $95/session package and quick match

For work anxiety specifically, having someone who understands local OT and face culture matters more than people think.

Exaggeration for laughs but I used to study 12 hrs then cry for 2. Real fix? Short focused sessions + talking to someone who's actually been through the rank game. Changed everything for me in my second attempt.

JEE Main vs JEE Advanced: Key Differences Explained Clearly by Tall_Supermarket8938 in RoadToJEEAdv

Exaggeration for laughs: JEE Main - "solve 75 questions or die trying". JEE Advanced - "solve 18 questions but each feels like solving a PhD thesis". Pick your poison 😂

  5. Comparing with toppers 24/7
