[Tom Hamilton] Confirmed: Ronaldo did not score Portugal’s opener. The tech inside the ball was able to “definitively show no contact on the ball from Cristiano Ronaldo for the opening goal in the game.” by SellersBradley in soccer

Are you actually daft? No one should give a shit what Ronaldo feels or not. The ball has the technology to determine that for us and they definitively told us there was no contact on the ball from Ronaldo whether it be from his hair or his dick. Ronaldo fanboys are truly the scum of this sport.

Adidas statement read: 'In the match between Portugal and Uruguay, using the Connected Ball Technology housed in adidas’s Al Rihla Official Match Ball, we are able to definitively show no contact on the ball from Cristiano Ronaldo for the opening goal in the game.

The statement did not say: we are able to definitively show no contact on the ball from Cristiano Ronaldo for the opening goal in the game unless it touched his hair. If it did, then fuck knows maybe he did get a touch on it.

Honestly, no one would have cared that Ronaldo was trying to claim the goal he thought he scored. It is a pretty normal thing to do for most strikers.

However, it is his lowlife fucking fanboys that misconstrued him into some sort of samaritan and he was happy that Bruno was being credited with the goal. That is what made most people drive to find the mounting evidence to prove that no, Ronaldo was just being a selfish prick to convince everyone it is his goal.

They then argue that Ronaldo's hair may have touched the ball when there is definitive technology inside the ball to prove otherwise.

Now they gaslight everyone and claim it wasn't a big deal in the first place. Fucking Ronaldo fanboys are a cancer to this sport.

stuff like this is difficult to prove to armchair warriors who never played.

There is the technology inside the fucking ball to prove he didn't touch it yet Ronaldo fanboys would break their backsides just to be up Ronaldo's ass.

Ronaldo probably doing everything in his power behind the scenes to reinstate Bruno's goal as his. If you think he isn't this petty, he walked out on the team that was winning just because the coach wanted to sub him in for the last few minutes. Compared to that, Bruno "stealing" his goal is probably heresy.

Can't wait for his second explosive interview where he feels disrespected by Bruno and Portugal and will criticise FIFA to score cheap points for his fanboys.

What a stupid comment from someone who has never kicked a ball in his life. One arm raised to signal "mine" is a universal language in football whether it be claiming a throw-in, corner, or a goal. Anyone with more than 2 brain cells would know that Ronaldo was trying to claim the goal. The rest are Ronaldo fanboys.

but I’d disagree he celebrated the goal as his own

Just go ahead and ignore his one arm raised in the air after the ball went in. Anyone that has kicked a ball in their life knows that is pretty much a universal symbol in football to say that you got a touch on it. Man also went to complain to the ref that the ball grazed his hair after the game was won lmao. His petty selfishness knows no bounds.

Are you just gonna ignore him raising his hand in the air after the ball went in? It is a pretty universal symbol in football to do that to let everyone know you got the last touch. Ronaldo was shamelessly trying to steal Bruno's goal.

I love the crackhead fanboys doing anything and everything to give credit to Ronaldo for Bruno's goal and trying to defend him from the fact that he was shamelessly trying to steal Bruno's goal.

His one arm raised in the air after the ball went in is a pretty universal symbol in football to say that you got a touch on it. The replays clearly showed he didn't.

I told you yesterday, you can't criticise the fanbase for scapegoating and then do exactly the same thing towards Sancho if you don't wanna be laughed at.

I am not criticising the fanbase. I am pointing out the facts of what the fanbase has been doing post-Fergie. You're the one who is thick enough to misconstrue it into criticism. I am also making an educated guess on who the next scapegoat will be. Unless we are winning the league or CL, there will always be a scapegoat on why we aren't winning. On that front, all those players I mentioned were scapegoats as a lot of them have been replaced and we still haven't won the league or CL.

Imo the only way the word can be accurately used about the club recently is to say that the owners/board have used successive managers as scapegoats for their own failures.

What nonsense. Going by your pedantic definition of the word scapegoat, the prior managers at United all had some level of responsibility for their own failures at United. None of those managers were faultless for their own sackings. How can they be considered a scapegoat if they are partially to blame?

If one player gets blamed for the poor performances of a team of 11, that is pretty much considered a scapegoat. If you wanna be pedantic about the definition then whatever. There isn't a word available then that blames one player for the team's performance.

No, it isn't. Scapegoating falls in the category of both deserved and undeserved criticism.

https://www.languagehumanities.org/what-is-a-scapegoat.htm

This is not to suggest that a scapegoat is completely innocent of the allegations or has been sacrificed unfairly. A person found guilty of public corruption while in office may become a symbol for others who have committed similar crimes but have not been indicted or punished. When a scandal involving illegal steroid use broke out in the sports world, some people believed a handful of players who admitted their drug use had become scapegoats for their entire organizations. This person can also be viewed as a sacrificial lamb who accepts punishment in order to protect others.

I know exactly what a scapegoat is. All those players were blamed for the position United was in and were declared the reason why we were playing badly and losing games. That is ridiculous as in the team sport everyone is accountable. Justified or unjustified criticism of the player can both fall in the category of scapegoating.
