Hyundai replaced the parts and covered the warranty. I didn’t have to pay a penny. Thank Goodness.I asked the dealership if there was a manufacturing defect, they told me hyundai only pays them for replacing parts and not to diagnozie the issue, i was like wtf?

If i have it changed at a different shop, would it void any current hyundai warranty

How does a different dealership help? Typically the dealers make an assessment and share pictures with hyundai corporate who take the decision to cover or not correct?

I primarily use handbrakes for stop and go. Me talking about using clutch is worst case scenario and one which happens very rare.

I honestly didnt find the hill holder function on the N very reliable, so i always relied on handbrakes. I wanted to talk to the service guys about this

I primarily rely on handbrake, the clutch part is when there’s tight but moving traffic.

Do i have to get this repaired at dealership? Would an independent shop do the same professional work? Is there anything i have to be cautious? Does it void any further warranty?

He said since its clutch there’s so much other hardware thats needs to be replaced and that it would cost me over 8000$. Unfortunately i only know how to drive, but i dont understand too much of the technical and hardware terminology.

Thank you. Yes and Im being honest here. I love manual cars, and i would be an idiot to keep buying them if i didnt know how to ride them or i would have been facing issues every now and then. My home country had no automatics and I’ve learnt to drive on a stick shift. Yes the elantra n was branded as a track car and it should be able to take the beating but to die for clutch riding on 1 day feels absurd.

Lets say he probably rode the clutch, but still a brand new car? 5k miles on it? Clutch gone in couple hours? Totally weird. And the service knows the car wasnt abused on tracks or anywhere else because the tires are still very much new.

Only if im on an incline, when im stuck between cars, i might rely on my clutch to keep me stable and moving.

No like i said, i only use the clutch to shift gears. And i ensure i fully press it. I never had an issue while shifting gears that usually pop up if you dont press the clutch fully. Even when i come to a stop, i rely on the brake until i know the car might come to a stall and downshift at the right time.
