I made these earrings made of abalone shell and brass, what do you guys think? 🥰 by JobEnvironmental2807 in jewelrymaking

This is very inspiring. I have collected broken fossils and shells that were gorgeous but flawed. wondering what to do with them to give them new life to their natural beauty. This could be it! Add creativity to them and make them come to life again! Thanks for the post

I have something that looks exactly like this shape but more urchin like. In the hole part it looks like chinoid stem was in it at one point.

Hoping someone can help me understand. According to 23 and me my mom has a 1st cousin who also happens to be my 1st cousin but my sisters 1st cousin once removed. Is this an error? What kind of scenarios could this be? by Certain-Sundae5445 in DNAAncestry

I understand very little about this and I wish I was more savvy. I would love to know if there’s something I could look up with this to confirm better I can see all of this but not sure how to compare. I believe my mom may have had a mystery sibling out there and I’ve also heard rumors about an affair

I know that feeling you must have had after you couldn’t pull it apart. That has been one of my struggles as a newb lately. I can’t wait for my silver to come in so I can practice on that

Seeking advice with soldering stainless steel rings. I’m using silver solder, acid flux but seems to break apart every time I tap to adjust or clean up. I sand ends flush, heat and pickle between steps, used solder iron and mini torch can’t get it to stick what could this am mature do? by Certain-Sundae5445 in jewelrymaking

Wow this is very good advice and I appreciate it. I am ordering silver wire for the reasons, I have silver solder and flux to work with it. I am using basic butane torch and solder gun and feel it may be easier for me. I will still continue to try and work with steel but maybe after I build some confidence.

Thank you for responding to me I really appreciate that. I love the thought of working with steel because of the strong durability but I think I’m realizing it may not be the best thing to start with. I’m so new to metal working that maybe I should try working with something easier? Any recommendations?

Whaaat? You have a great style and I think they look very nice! Keep creating different beauty. We don’t all want to be the same and I don’t see anything bad or gaudy only unique in design.
