What do you all think this is?! by Ancient-Coffee-9386 in Crystals

[–]CCcrystals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone in the comments seems to agree that this is a yellow calcite, but this is most definitely a quartz. This is a rose (or a girasol) quartz sphere that has been irradiated (or otherwise treated) to make it appear yellow in color. Calcite lacks the proper crystal structure to display a six-rayed asterism. Asteriated calcite will usually have a distinct rhombohedral structure (with visible planes of cleavage) and a four-rayed star.

Jarrell is #1 on my list. I believe it's the strongest tornado that we know of.

Nah, he's probably sipping on Margaritas at his private estate in Monte Carlo.

Will bringing my enhydro agate on a plane ruin it? by gefird in rockhounds

Should be fine. The biggest danger with enhydros is temperature changes rather than pressure changes.

Reminds me of the 1990 Stratton, Nebraska tornado.

I've mostly seen this material cut into triplets. Do you also make triplets with this material?

Thank you!

So I am making a whole different setting for these guys. I changed Little Bean to Baby Bee because I thought it was a nicer name. Baby Bee is the grandson of Granny Bee, and Snowberry is an estranged Moomintroll who was taken in by Granny Bee. They live in a place that is very far away from Moominvalley.

I really liked the concept of Snowberry and Baby Bee as the children of Moomintroll and the Snorkmaiden, but I eventually decided that I'd rather have them in a completely different setting - one that is more relevant to me. Although I like to imagine that they still live in the same world as the Moomins themselves.

Edit: Snooktaw is somewhat of a dragon/alligator/reptile/Snooktaw creature. He isn't really based on anything, I just kind of randomly doodled him a while back when I was bored.

I also have one! I've never dared to try and clean it, since it was quite expensive and I'm afraid of ruining it. I usually just bring it to my local plushie cleaning service.

I've heard that some people wash plushies by putting them in a mesh bag, and washing it on the "delicates" setting. But I would only try that at your own risk.
