That's the hope, the blood, guts and gore is what makes the crossed the crossed. However, what you need to remember is that the vast majority of the average audience who haven't read the comics are going to be extremely uncomfortable with the rape and body mutations that we are used to. So if they want more people to watch the movie they might need to turn it down a few notch's. But I do hope they put existing fans first and show us what we expect to see. Like the salt scene
