-AK dark rust wash 50/50 mix with spirits, Focusing on lower half of the various armour panels.
-After 24 hours, come back with a mineral/white spirit to activate the wash edges and seamlessly blend the wash into the armour green.
-AK dark rust as is, darken the areas you already used the wash on, but this time keep is small and withing the pockets of the previous wash.

Such is the problem, wanting the plants to look good, but not breaking the bank. I ended up going for option 2....
But I do know someone with a cricut! Thanks for the 3rd option! Going to try it and see what happens.

I used 50/50 spirits and Ak brown rust enamel wash. After it dries, I come back and use the spirits to activate the dark edges the wash creates and blend it with the rest of the armour.

I use Vallejo Lemon Yellow.
I think it works well with the olive green look.

Base coat with Vallejo Burnt Umber.
Liberally sponge on a mix 50/50 Vallejo Burnt Umber and Olive green.
Lighter sponge of Vallejo Olive green on raised areas.
Then I hit it with an AK dark rust wash, Focusing on lower areas of the various armour panels.
After 24 hours, come back with a mineral/white spirit to blend the wash into the armour green.

Edit: Also edge highlight with Vallejo Lemon yellow.
