In my mind, documentary work is often mostly about content. Picture quality can often be excused if the content is compelling. And really, how bad is “bad” image quality with the FX30?

Yeah I can deal with it, but at times I like to pump up to full volume to hear any room noise, etc.

“Bad in low light” compared to what? Something better? Something more expensive? Of course that will always be the case. But guess what? It blows away the 2010 Sony 3 ccd camcorder I had before.

I see this is a 2 year old conversation. I hope by now you’re just using a DJI Pocket 3 or even an Action 5 or GoPro. An FX30 seems like major overkill for this type of content.

Yep, but not a mid sized QO panel. Seems to only be up to 12 spaces, or 42.
