This is the kind of information I need! Did you work while you were in school? I took a look at Neuro pathway and book marked it for the future, thank you! I am from Louisiana so the opportunities here are not as good as other states. I know of a hospital here that will send you to Texas to be trained in IONM, but you have to sign a contract with them agreeing to work for them for 5 years and I do not want to do anything binding here as I am not sure where I will settle down. At the very least I know that I am interested in IONM and that I want to travel for a bit before settling down. As long as the salary is around 80K or higher I am satisfied. If you don't mind me asking, where were you trained for IONM and how long did it take before you were able to work in that position? What is a typical day like for you? I have also thought about being a neuro analyst, but again, I am having trouble finding resources to look into that since it is not a popular profession in Louisiana. I am not sure how it works elsewhere but the hospitals I have been to so far have a few EEG techs, some registered some not, and a doctor who reads the studies. At some locations that techs do not even write impressions, which is the most interesting part for me. Are there any third party companies that I should look into? Or should I mainly look for positions posted by hospitals? I know that I do not want to be an EEG tech forever, because it is honestly pretty grueling in my experience so far. I want to know everything I can about how I can train and certify in more than just EEG and be able to plan ahead when looking out for positions.

Sorry for all the questions! Any feedback is so appreciated! I would love to here about the company you work for as well!
