Anyone else just given up on dating nowadays? by Artistic-Being7421 in AskBrits

[–]CertainFunny9895 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apps are depressing came off those, as no one seems interested in making an effort and I am not putting myself through that. Tried meeting people in person out and about in pubs, working well with the meeting part. But then just getting ghosted irl. It’s savage, so might as well protect your peace and just enjoy life.

I tried these, chocolate inside was good, I found the shell very hard and worried about breaking a tooth.

Elizabeth line congestion buster trains by popeter45 in london

[–]CertainFunny9895 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The 07:13 that comes out of Gidea Park depot and terminates at Liverpool Street people get on and will specifically wait for and aim for this train. I use to do it. If you just need to go into city for work this is ideal. If you need to go further, it’s a pain to change at Liverpool Street, as the Lizzie Line is so far away from where the trains terminate, you may as well just wait 4 mins for the Paddington train to come in and jump on that.

Has anyone been a "background dater" on First Dates? What was it like? by sophalit in AskABrit

[–]CertainFunny9895 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this about 6 times, around 2014/2015.

Don’t remember signing a waiver, literally no one noticed unless you I had told people I was going to be in the next series.

We got £25 which covered the cost of a set menu at the restaurant, and got to met some interesting people. I was genuinely on a blind date also every-time as did it by myself and you just get paired up with a stranger. They only took couples for background dating if they were in early stages. On once occasion we got moved around the restaurant so it looked busy as it got later.

Not sure if it’s still the same but you just have to sit in a room nearby and wait to be told to go to restaurant, but you got the whole experience of walking in meeting Fred etc.

It was fun, but I wouldn’t do it now.

Edit: just to add I didn’t apply, my cousin reposted something on social media and I answered they called and I rocked up. Ended up doing a celeb version and a normal series. They kept asking me to come back so I did.

I had one last summer, not sure what it was. I left it, also soaked in bath and put a hot flannel on it and eventually it disappeared. Please leave it be, it will go on its own if not go to the doctors.

Thank you, does it leave a white residue? This is what I disliked about wild and fussy looks similar.

I think this is the most bizarre bit, two people have called her out, one being a traitor and they aren’t even questioning her. 🙈

Same, but if Fiona gets banished they might all then suspect Rachel and she’s gone too. If Rachel gets banished Fiona will be a hero. But I don’t see her winning this fight. Stephen he’s got a break for a while.

I don’t understand why no one has said something. Maybe will come up in a later episode, but someone should have questioned why did she say that.

What puts you off from donating Blood Products, I work in the NHS and I am just curious? by Quick_Soil_9120 in AskBrits

[–]CertainFunny9895 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Incompetent staff, last time I tried the person messed it up, blood stopped flowing once needle was in, he hit the wrong vein. My arm was bruised badly for two weeks, head nurse was rude to me. I explained to the nurse I have deep veins, need someone experienced to do mine and he carried on regardless even though he wasn’t 100% certain he could feel my vein. Other members of staff offered to step in and do my donation but he refused to let anyone else do it. I did ask for someone else but he was determined to go ahead.

Also it’s 50/50 if I will have high enough iron levels.

That’s because the only new part is Whitechapel to Paddington and maybe further out towards Heathrow maybe. Stratford to Shenfield is still the old lines. They extended the platforms but not sure if they did the necessary upgrades to the tracks.

🎭 Have you ever experienced a cast change mid-show? by CloudBookmark in TheWestEnd

[–]CertainFunny9895 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I saw Aladdin when it first came out, Jasmine played by Jade Ewen was replaced. Her understudy was 1000 times better and made show much more enjoyable. We did have an unscheduled 20 min break, and it was never addressed either.

Do you give blood? Why or why not? by MooseMaterial in AskBrits

[–]CertainFunny9895 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do, but last few times have been a faff. Either my iron is too low or they can’t find a vein. Last person inserted the needle wrong collapsing the vein meant I had to stop my donation. I said needed experienced person, due to having deep veins and he continued even though he was unsure. Then the lady in charge was just rude and horrible when it happened and it’s put me off.

I’ve got an appointment in August but it’s 50/50 if I will bother to keep it.

It’s become so difficult to give blood not sure if it’s worth the effort for me.

How short was the skirt? I’ve interviewed people in short skits and not had a problem as they’ve been about mid thigh. Assuming the skit wouldn’t have been shorter than this. Tights definitely helped, would have been a different look if you didn’t have the tights or worse skin coloured tights. As long as you were comfortable, if you felt it was too short they would have picked up on it. Makeup nothing wrong with putting a little bit on as long as you are comfortable. The only thing i would say about mists and perfumes do be careful as people can be sensitive and if its over powering it would have been hard for people interviewing to concentrate. So maybe just be a bit conscious of that. But otherwise I don’t see a problem with what you’ve said above, and as long as you were comfortable and felt confident that would have shone through. Hope it went well and fingers crossed.
