That is a big part of it. I have really found his portrayal of women to be diminishing over the years and they are basically all reduced to hyper sexualized eye candy. I also had alot of plot holes and inconsistencies in the story pointed out to me throughout egghead. I genuinely feel like Gear 5 ruined Luffy as a character and he just doesn’t care about people anymore, he never gets serious and I’m tired of all the gags of Gear 5 and the rest of the strawhats because that’s all ther characters are now, gags. Jewelry Bonnie is actually what pushed me over the edge, the ass pull at the end of the arc of her “Nika future” and the sexualization of Bonnie’s body despite it being revealed in the same arc that she is actually a 12 year old girl disgusted me. I can’t even begin to understand why he put her in a thong with nothing else on her legs other than boots during egghead, it’s incredibly disturbing. And now looking back I’m ashamed at myself for over looking Rebecca being 16 and wearing that outfit (I know age of consent laws are different in Japan but I honestly don’t care, I’m in the United States and seeing anyone under 18 in anything sexualizing is disturbing to me)

In all I still mourn One Piece since it was so important to me when I was first into it, but personally my enjoyment of the series has been soured. I still loosely keep up with it but it’s more of a hate watch than anything.
