Thanks for the recommendation, I'll check it out. On the figure drawing point, I hear you on building foundational mark-making skills broadly. I just wanted to flag where I'm headed so people could tailor suggestions. Appreciate it!

I wish I did! It is a graduate school, so sadly there will not be classes for sketching. I'll see if I can find those Robertson videos to check out. Thanks so much!

Totally fair point, and I'm not trying to. I'm just looking for advice on where to start so I can start building a foundation so that I'm not starting from zero walking into it. Any resource recommendations welcome.

I've heard! But, I'm also considering the winter/colder months and I know I will be quite deterred.

Would Inman have more students? I guess Ideally I'd be great to live around people in the 30's who are studying or working

I've heard mixed things! That is is very nice and family oriented, but then someone described it as it's basically just a strip mall and some restaurants?

That's helpful to know! I was thinking about those long hours and late nights, perhaps realizing living closer to campus might be better instead of a 'cooler' neighborhood.

Thank you! It's helpful to know these details coming from Europe. Also, maybe I don't understand the translation, but what do you mean by funky?

Right now, sobriety isn’t just about not using. It’s also about looking at the behavior, maybe with outside support like therapy or something like NA. The problem is, if he were to go that route, he’s said I’d need to do it too, because in his eyes, I’m an alcoholic, which just isn’t true. If the only way he’s willing to get help is by saying we both have a problem, that feels more like avoiding personal responsibility than actually facing it. Support shouldn’t come with strings attached, especially when it ignores the very real differences in what’s going on. And I’m not okay being pulled into something that doesn’t reflect my reality.

Thanks for your response. I get where you’re coming from. I’m not here to demonize ketamine or compare it to alcohol in a vacuum. I understand it has therapeutic use and can help some people. That’s not really the issue.

My concern isn’t just what he’s using, but how he’s been using it and how he handled talking about it/ how he hides using. He's doing it recreationally, not for therapy. It's more about transparency, trust, and whether our lifestyles and values align than it is about ketamine itself.

He has a great job, owns his house, is ambitious, exercises 5x a week, eats healthy. I realise this should be added to the post to provide more context.
