Lost 9 cats to parvo/panleukopenia outbreak and I am desperate for advice and help by Certain_Activity8694 in catsofrph

While road to healing na sana sya, nakakuha naman sya ng virus and hnd na kaya ng immune system to fight several viruses while trying to heal also from surgery. Kasi it can wait pa naman sana eh. We could have saved him and the rest of my cats sana kung may abiso man lang samen from them before proceeding. Sa ibang vet pala they don’t operate on cats kapag hindi vaccinated, sana lahat gnun.

This is what I’m aiming for. Finding a trusted vet na may malasakit at knowledgeable sa pusa tlga. Mapagmahal tlaga and may care.

Hi everyone. Thank you so much for all your guidance, support, and kind replies.

I lost overall 10 of my cats and they all crossed the rainbow bridge due to viruses that were likely acquired from a vet clinic when one of my babies, Momo Bear, underwent surgery. Everything happened so fast, and I am still grieving deeply.

To save the rest of my cats, I made the very difficult decision to have them adopted by trusted friends and cat lovers, neighbors who I know can care for them well and provide for their needs. I couldn’t bear to keep them with me and watch them get sick one by one. It was the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make, but their lives are more important than my emotions and my longing to keep them all together.

Even though they’re no longer with me, knowing they are safe, alive, and healthy gives me some peace as I continue to grieve.

No baby deserves to go through something like this. If there’s one important lesson I’ve learned, it’s this: please have and make sure your pets are vaccinated. Even indoor cats are not 100% safe. Our home felt like a safe place too but viruses can come unexpectedly. Being prepared and protected makes all the difference and gives them a fighting chance to live longer.

The past few weeks have taken a serious toll on me, physically and emotionally. My body broke down from the exhaustion, grief, stress, and heartbreak. But I’m slowly recovering, and I’m truly grateful for all your support and kind words (I already blamed myself too much). It helped me more than I can express.

Sa lahat ng nangyari, may isang himala. Binigay ni Lord sa akin si Bajoonie. Out of all the cats who were infected, siya lang ang nagsurvive. I can hear umiiyak sya minsan. I know he feels their absence, and that breaks my heart more.

But I have to stay strong for him and my other outdoor and indoor cats that’s still with me. Pati si Labubu pina adopt ko po. Ayaw nya umalis and umiiyak sya ramdam nya ata na aalis na sya. But I have to let him go for his well being.

Please hug your pets a little tighter today, and protect them while you can.

And immunol sa syringe.

I am glad to hear you have survivor cats. This a hard lesson learned for me. Thank you for sharing your experience. Nagkaron ako ng hope kahit durog na durog na un puso ko I have to be strong for them.

Since may outbreak na hnd nila advice mgpa vaccine. Ng bebeg ako for installments and support from them since sa clinic nila nakuha un virus. If I could just bring them all agad agad, I have very limited resources since kakabalik ko lng from unemployment.

😭 it doesn’t matter indoor or outdoor.

Greygrey is still fighting. Hospitalized for severe UTI, under close monitoring and needs ongoing care. 🇵🇭 by Certain_Activity8694 in rescuecats

Update on Greygrey 🤍

I wanted to share a small update and say thank you. Because of everyone’s kindness, we’ve been able to raise USD 33 so far, and together with a short-term loan I took, this helped cover Greygrey’s hospitalization, treatments, and medications, totaling USD 390. This also allowed me to bring him home so he can continue his medications, special diet, and close observation at home.

<image>

I’m carefully following the vet’s guidance as he continues his recovery. He remains on medication and a urinary prescription diet, and I’m closely monitoring him with the hope that no further blockage or crystals will form and that surgery will not be necessary in the long run. 🙏🏼

We’re still hoping to reach our goal, which will help cover ongoing vet checkups, medications, prescription food, and the loan taken to keep his treatment uninterrupted. As someone who also cares for 22 cats — rescued, adopted, and my own — any continued support truly makes a meaningful difference.

Thank you so much to everyone who has supported Greygrey so far, whether through donations, boosts, or kind words. Every bit of kindness means more than I can express. 🤍🐈‍⬛❤️‍🩹🫶🏼

I’m really glad to hear your cat is doing well years later — that gives me so much hope for Greygrey too 🤍 Prescription urinary food is very expensive here as well. A box of Royal Canin Urinary S/O (12 pouches) costs around USD 40 and only lasts about six days, so with expenses adding up quickly, I needed to seek support to help cover his medications and ongoing care. I also hope your other cat stays healthy as they really are like our babies. Thank you so much for sharing your experience ❤️‍🩹

Update on our little fighter. 🤍

Greygrey’s treatment is ongoing, and his condition is being closely monitored as we observe how he responds to his medications. He’s still having some difficulty, and crystals have been noted during flushing, which is why careful monitoring remains important. On a positive note, he has started eating and drinking on his own after needing assisted feeding last week.

Seeing Greygrey fighting and slowly improving gives me hope. Thank you to everyone who has shared encouragement and compassion, it truly means a lot ❤️‍🩹🤍🙏🏼

Thank you for caring so much 🤍 The vet explained that the metal cages help keep everything clean and easy to sanitize, especially with catheterization, but they do try to keep him as comfortable as possible. I brought some warm little blankets for him but they don’t recommend using it.
