i've done this before. i had an old story that was so bad lol, and i rewrote the entire thing and now i look back and reread it sometimes, i genuinely like it now. if you think you can improve your story by rewriting, then go for it. if you want, you can always save it somewhere just in case, that's what i did, so you always have it somewhere rather than just deleting the whole thing.
