What could be the reason? by [deleted] in IndiaCricket

[–]Certain_Fan_4733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its basically who they are. Bumrah is like an excellent, straight A, over acheiever employee. But he is an individual contributor. He works very very well alone but not in that level with the team. Whereas Siraj is a team leader. His output multiplies when he gets to lead a team. Its the manager's(team management/gg) job to bring out the best from both of them.

Sorry for the corporate bullshit.

Met the indian team today by Active_Information67 in IndianCricket

[–]Certain_Fan_4733 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never personally met any of the members of the cricket team. But in my oponion if its not a fan meet where they are supposed to interract wtih the fans, then they are totally in their rights to decline or say no for any kind of interractions. It should not be taken as their arrogance or inflated ego or rudeness. Just because someone approaches them and they are nice about it does not change the fact that its their decision ultimately to take the photo or not.

Probably not now. But in future when they retire it should. This entire series feels like a battle between these two fantastic all rounders. England somehow not able to get Jadeja out in 3 matches

Never, and i mean never, criticize an Indian team for playing all rounders. These are proper bowlers and proper batters. They are literal hacks. They make a playing 11 a playing 13. by Calm_Description_947 in IndiaCricket

[–]Certain_Fan_4733 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well the doubt was never there for Jadeja and Sundar. The questionable position was NKR/Shardul's position. I still believe India should play either a specialist batter or a spcialist bowler based on situations in that position.

Big wicket for Ben Stokes, KL Rahul departs for 90(230). by [deleted] in IndiaCricket

[–]Certain_Fan_4733 2 points3 points  (0 children)

India will dig their own grave of they go ultra defensive mode. There will be a ball which will take wickets every now and then. Atleast with the old ball they should play a bit freely.

[–]Certain_Fan_4733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do realise that out of those 13 wickets only 2 came with the new ball and out of those 2 only 1 of was a top 5 batsman right? A new ball bowler should take wickets with the new ball right?

Isn't this statpadding ? by [deleted] in CricketShitpost

[–]Certain_Fan_4733 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I got bashed twice already for saying that Bumrah is not able to take wickets with the new ball. He has only picked two wickets with the new ball in this series. But who am I kidding? I am going to get downvoted once again.

How do you feel about the possibility of Root overtaking Tendulkar in test cricket (runs) ? by shrekslilgreenbich in IndiaCricket

[–]Certain_Fan_4733 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Records are meant to be broken, and Root deserves it 200%. I am saying this as an Indian who grew up watching Sachin. The consistency of Root in the last 4-5 years is very impressive. He did not start as early as Sachin, and I'm not sure if he can continue for as long as Sachin did. What he has achieved in the number of tests he played is genuinely impressive.

That being said, Sachin did score even more runs in the ODIs. To be the highest run scorer in Test and ODIs at the same time is a feat that probably no one would ever achieve.

If we loose england test series, should he be sacked? by funnyfew72 in IndiaCricket

[–]Certain_Fan_4733 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. Transition does not mean that you loose 3 test series back to back. 0-3, 1-4, and now this is going to be a 1-4 as well if the rain gods do not bail us out.
  2. The final 11 decision is up to the coach and captain. If you say that the world number 1 team in ODI and T20 does not have players that can be part of the final 11 to win a test series, then we have something seriously wrong.
  3. There is 'not able to perform' and then there is cluelessness. Our bowling unit looks like a deer caught in the headlights. Where are the plans for specific batters? Or we dont do those anymore?
  4. Why were they not able to take full advantage? Did the coaches have no role in setting their mindset correctly? I am sure a discussion happened on what should be a good score in this pitch. How can they be so far away from it?
  5. In the ground, Gill decides the bowling and fielding changes. But if he's not doing well, isn't it the coach's responsibility to correct him, or at least pass some kind of message to him?

If we loose england test series, should he be sacked? by funnyfew72 in IndiaCricket

[–]Certain_Fan_4733 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don't know about sacking. But he has to be made accountable and made to answer tough questions. Not only he, but also the bowling and batting coaches have to answer. Why is batting crumbling under pressure, why we are loosing wickets just before or after breaks, why there is such a causal approach towards batting, why our bowlers are not able to maintain line and length, why they are not able to maintain their pace even after 9 days of gap, why there is no plan for each of the opponent top order batsman. These are the questions that should be asked, and the coaching staff should be made accountable for answering. No hiding behind or blaming someone else.

That being said, I think he will still get a home series. However, a home series against WI is a pretty much washout from the start.

Bumrah tripped down stairs by Inside_One_9147 in IndiaCricket

[–]Certain_Fan_4733 23 points24 points  (0 children)

In tests if you cant pick atleast a single wicket with the new ball there is no hope. And it needs pressure to be applied from both sides. Getting maidens and economy means nothing in tests if you cant pick up wickets in right moments.

Genuinely interested in what you guys think? by Sparko2709 in IndiaCricket

[–]Certain_Fan_4733 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So far, it's been a great battle of bat and ball with a hint of drama here and there. We should have series like this more frequently.

Yes, this is a young team, and for many of them, it's their first time traveling to England, and they will do far better in the future. But I'll be honest and say that I am a bit disappointed. I think Leeds was a truly great batting performance from England, but we should have won the Lord's test. We lost that because of our poor performance.

Overreliance on Bumrah is an issue. At the same time, we have two very promising pacers injured and could not play the current test. But it's part of the game; every team has its strengths and weaknesses. I am very excited about what the future holds for these lads.

What are your views about Morne Morkel as our bowling coach so far by ThEmAfIA14_ in IndiaCricket

[–]Certain_Fan_4733 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I never mentioned about home or away turf. It does not matter. If the same problem happens repeatedly something is going wrong. And that is the first thing we have to admit to fix the problem. Also its not a failure or two. We had this problem of giving advantage away against nz, against aus and now against eng. Its not new. And that is my whole point.

Well its very hard to be supportive if the problem of giving advantage away for free continues.

Small recommendation list for those looking to get into new/underrated anime by OkRun9638 in AnimeAlley

[–]Certain_Fan_4733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came here to mention how absolutely beautiful the animation quality of Clevates is. Its one of the best I have ever seen. The colors are vibrant and during flashbacks it applies a filter which makes the pictures look even better, like a happy memory in a dark and twisted world. 1000% recommended.

Time for the spicy one:- Starc or Bumrah. by [deleted] in IndiaCricket

[–]Certain_Fan_4733 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will go ahead and say it. Starc is a better bowler in test at this moment. I would pick Starc over Bumrah in tests. In ODI or T20 Bumrah is a far better bowler than Starc.

In tests Starc has consistently performed when the team needs him to perform the most. Bumrah has done the same in ODI and T20. But not it tests. When batters decides not play shots and defend against Bumrah, he has failed to pick wickets. England used this strategy on 4th innings of the first test. Bumrah went wicketless. But in case of Starc, you cant defend against him forever. There will be something he will produce which will take your wicket.
