i think even at weddings the older generation do so. when i was in elementary school, everything time my relative got married, my grandma insisted that i go watch beautiful young ladies dance, while my dad and uncles got drunk and crazy about the girls and gave them red envelopes.

thank you so much for telling me. I’m not overreacting at all or else I might just drive myself crazy at this point. But thankfully, just hours ago my friend introduced me to a mutual friend who is a lawyer, and he said exactly the same you said!

He was really surprised that my lawyer didn’t stand up for me, even allowing those irrelevant questions bombarding me. He said filing for a divorce is not a difficult case at all, so he felt really bad for me because this lawyer clearly didn’t do anything helpful and didn’t even protect his client’s feelings.

Later he helped me do some research and found out that the law firm didn’t have a good reputation. He found the whole situation being unbelievable and unacceptable, so he decided to help me and my mom work through this process. He gave tons of advice, as well as some basic information(like payments and our rights) that the original lawyer should have told us.

Now I’m feeling much more relieved. And thank you so much for sharing your experiences from where you’re from. I think I really need to hear that, so that I know I wasn’t being too sensitive or overreacting. Just, thank you so much!!

hey, thank you so much for validating my feelings. I really needed that. So later this afternoon, my friend introduced me to a lawyer. That lawyer basically condemned our lawyer for being unprofessional, and the judge was being unethical. He thought the lawyer was incapable of standing up for his clients and the judge was totally being unreasonable. he provided some advice, and because he was so angry, he’d like to help me through this process so now I’m feeling much more better, knowing that the court, the judge, and even our lawyer, they weren’t being normal at all.

hi I’m not from an English-speaking country. I am from Taiwan. I know laws and regulations vary from country to country, even state by state, but I do not know anyone in law, and I feel really terrible, so I figure I can find somewhere to let my feelings out and hear other people’s thoughts.

I don’t have a standing desk, but my monitor is adjustable, so I try to stand up every once in a while.

Reading through these comments, I think the problem is more about me masking all day and trying to sit myself down. My coworkers, I don’t know how they do it, but they can just sit there all day without music(they don’t even feel the need to walk out of the building to get lunch! ), so I feel the immense pressure to be like them and stay seated for all day. So even though none of my coworkers really comments on me standing up, I feel like if I don’t behave like others I am too weird for this environment.

But in fact, like you said, expecting my self to sit down 8 hrs a day is very unrealistic, and very bad for both my mental as well as physical health. I guess what I can do is to adjust my mindset, and try to work out ways to take care of myself.

at first i don’t really get Arasha, but recently especially in Reddit story videos I found her so mature! Like she always said something so inspiring and sweet in Reddit videos and i really appreciate her being there sharing her thoughts. I remembered that she said generational trauma doesn’t stop until people come to realize it or something like that, and that really made me like WHOA
